I had 218,000 tier points. Now I have 5997 and it will take twice as much coin in to earn a point on VP. Where is everyone looking to move to? I am thinking Plaza or 4Q. Will be in LV next week and checking things out.

From what I see is it even worse than that. Sapphire and Emerald players will no longer receive 2x respectively 3x points on any day of play. Plus, resort fee is no longer complimentary for Emerald players, which makes it more expensive to stay there. (some Boyd operated hotels have been charging resort fee for Emerald players before these changes anyways). Instead, it's all 2 dollars coin-in = 1 bonus point. Which makes play at Boyd relatively worthlesss compared to other competitors. As for the tier system, we still no not have complete informations about how much coin-in would be necessary to earn 1 tier point. But it's not looking very good at this time....
Any comments and additional remarks are highly appreciated.
I had over 15,000 tier points and now I have 595. I am staying at the Orleans (comped) on 9-8 thu 9-9-14.
I will try to keep forum members informed as to the situation.

Hello Vegas Todd. I would be particularly interested if you could find out how many points played are necessary to earn 1 tier point. (you could for instance play 10 dollars on videopoker and the same on other slot machines, or table games, or check with the clerk at the club, but who knows if they all know about already.... and then check in your account). Also is it really true that higher tiers also only earn 1/2 bonus point per dollar played? It used to be 2x for Sapphire and 3x for Emerald. If they cut it all down to the first level for all players then it absolutely would not make much sense to play much at Boyd anymore. Free rooms are one thing, but you pay resort fee on top of the rooms you must pay for and the "annual free cruise" would definetely not be so free with all the fees and taxes. However, the biggest point of interest is how many points played for 1 tier point and if there are any multipliers for higher tiers....
And thanks :)

Card Levels Expire Dec 31 And That Really Hurts The Snowbirds.....
We Stay & Play Almost Exclusively At Boyds Jan-March...So If Our Card Level Expires Every Dec We Lose Any Loyalty We've Built Up....Add To That Players Points Expire After 6 Months....So Basically No Reason To Be Boyds Loyal Anymore....Very Upset Over This New NON-LOYALTY Club
Have to really wonder who there thought every year players must play thru $1500 on video poker and get no points for it. And new players too. What a slap in the face. That policy is so idiotic it can't possibly last. What lunatics thought it was a good business decision?
I know for moderate to heavy players $1500 doesnt take long. But it will still annoy. So what about an example. Lets say some guy from Hawaii goes to Las Vegas 2x a year and stays at California. 1st trip first $1500 in play gets no points. Apparently they may also use a theo to make it even much harder to earn points or tiers. So whatever points he earns if he doesnt come back in 6 months they cancell them. If he plays 3k over 3 days he has a whopping 750 points good for $1.25 in food comps if my math is correct.
This appears to be a "We are begging you to play somewhere else" new slot club.
I went from 135,000 points or 54% towards Emerald status to 2,945 points and now only 19.6% towards Emerald status. How is this an improvement? Guess I'll be checking out the Stations properties next visit.
Jabjazz, I think you calculated the $1500 for Video Poker based on "BConned" points (at 1 point for $2), and I got news for you....
The tier points are actually calculated different than "BConned" points. Tier points are 1 point for $5 in slots, and can be 1 point for as much as $100 in video poker depending on the game you play. So we are talking around $3750 coin-in for slots, or in the ballpark of $75,000 coin-in for video poker, before a player can achieve a tier to get any cash back or food credit.
I got less than 1% of my 2018 points (which was my coin in). Not sure thats going to change your conclusion much....
I went to Suncoast Wednesday. My $50K of play in 2018 turned into 911 tier points, they may have gone back 12 months which would have been about $90K of play. I played VP, a little under $900, at 4-4-10-16 deuces and 8-5 bonus. They were giving 11*points on VP. I got 4937 points. Thats about 900/2*11. I also got only 8 tier credits. The downgrade factors were clearly 2 on points and 100 on tier credits. The other thing was that in the seniors drawing I had 9 entries, 1 freebee and 8 for my tier credits. I had no chance against slot players who get 1 entry for $5 play. If this continues, it is not worth going to Boyd casinos any more.

Many thanks for these infos. Since they had or currently are having 3 days of points multipliers, it may look like at least the bonus points you are getting for your play are something. In fact, it looks like 5 1/2 factor by the old version of its club.
The Tier points are obviously given according some secret formula and it will take forever to build it up the ladder. What is most interesting for me, you mentioned that you played 4-4-10-16 deuces. As far as I remember the Suncoast has eliminated these games approx 10 years ago. Are you positive on that one? Where did you find these games? Or did you play the Illinois version which can be found all over the floor?
Greetings.
