Beating the Bar VP drink ticket system

For whatever reason, I have yet to have any trouble getting cocktails via the drink ticket system at casino bars playing VP. (Maybe I drink slower than I used to.) But some time ago I either read or heard somewhere that if you take your players card out of the machine and then re-insert it, the cycle starts over and you can get the light turned on immediately. Can anybody either confirm or deny this? And, if so, can you specify the property? Thanks!

This would only be a good idea if the system gave you one drink relatively quickly and then made you wait a while for the next. I assume that if you removed your card, the system would "forget" you had played and reset to the default.

Otherwise, you'd just be obliterating whatever credit you'd accumulated for your next drink. I don't really have any relatable experience, though, because if I can't just order a drink from the bartender, who observes that I'm playing, I won't be at that bar, or in that casino for that matter.

We never have problems either but this method was necessary at the Golden Nugget two years ago.  Maybe we were talking too much but the bartender told us to take out our card and reinsert  and bingo we were green lighted !

A similar drink hustle will work at Circa for the slanttops overlooking the sportsbook.

Insert card, run $25-30 coinin (forgot the exact number) then a drink ticket will spit out.  From that point forward you get a new ticket exactly every 15 minutes if you stay on the same machine.   Or you can switch machines, run 25-30 through and get a new ticket right away.

You can go to the bar or give to a drink server.   Premium top shelf cocktails will take two tickets.  Bartenders tend to be a bit smug and arrogant for us bottom feeders presenting drink chits.

I don't understand this since I do not think the Golden Nugget's lights system ties into to the players card.   MANY people play at the bar without a card in the machine, and the light system works the same way as people with the card.   In other words the same activity level turns the light on.   I will ask the 20 year experienced GN bartender about this when I am there next month.
