Boyd of paradise--any "forgive us" offers?

I haven't received anything at all from Boydbrain Casinos since the player's club slash-and-burn--but anecdotally, other people have gotten little Care packages of tier credits and sometimes, pretty decent out-of-the-blue offers. There are also stories of people who complained about being hammered back to Dirt level and got a status restoration. What are your experiences? Have they tried to woo you back?

My experiences might be different from yours, since when they Ruby-ized me (I had been Sapphire, and 3/4 of the way to Emerald), I basically told them to piss up a rope and have stopped playing at any of their properties. I still intend to avoid them--I'm not going to dump in $750K just to get my precious blue card back--but I'm curious.

had been a sapphire player for years----and have a current sapphire card-----prior to the fiasco only had 250 tier points based on my play for my visit in april------did not look like i would be able to get another 500 to get me to 750 sapphire-----------then low and behold they send me a notice stating i was given an additional 1250 tier points------am now good for next year as well---

offers have remained the same-----had initially planed to get eastablished at 1 or 2 other casinos and did some seeding at the golden gate which produced offers----however will now continue to ride that horse until it drops

Jean scott got bumped up one tier:

There is some good news for some Boyd players, including myself {(but not Brad)}.  We are getting notice of a “loyalty gift,” a tier bonus that puts us into the next tier level – from Sapphire to Emerald in my case.  Don’t ask me how you get this.  No one knows.  Some players who played little after the players club change got a bonus.  Some who played a lot got it.  But not everyone in either of those categories got it.  Who knows????  Do you think the powers-that-be are trying to do a little something to woo back the hordes of players who have left?

Any others?

If Boyd's had a DIRT card,I would have it.

I have been receiving about the same offers for a long time.3 comped nights and a small amount of free play and food credits.I'm looking at an offer right now for 3 comped nights and $30 slot play and $50 food credit good for September and October. And I am sapphire. Being a retired low roller,I'm happy with these offers.

I did get an offer for 14x points on video poker for every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in September. Good at Alliente, Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast, Sam's Town, California, Fremont and MSS.

The mailer states "By invitation only".

Don, that's pretty valuable if there aren't any strings attached. Of course, it won't apply to the very few fullpay machines in the Boyd pantheon (such as the few FPDW at Aliante), but in the past, point multipliers have been applicable to NSUD, JOB, and other 99.5%+ games. That multipler would put such games at or over 101%+! Worth a trip.

Of course, the $64,000 question is: does the bonus apply to Ruby scum, who earn no points? I would imagine that such players never received an "invitation" in the first place.

In lieu of being restored to Sapphire by fiat, I'd like to know if Boyd offers any way for us worthless Ruby crudballs to earn tier points a bit faster than normal. Being Sapphire is actually worth a bit of effort, if you can get the multipliers that come up from time to time.

Kevin:

According to vPFree2 FPDW is no more at Aliante:

100.07% DDB: 25¢
99.80% TB+: 25¢, 50¢, $1
99.73% NSUD: 25¢, 50¢, $1
99.69% SDB: 25¢, 50¢, $1
99.64% Bdlx: 25¢, 50¢, $1
99.54% JoB: 25¢, 50¢, $1
99.46% DDBAF: 25¢, 50¢, $1
99.45% BDW: 25¢, 50¢, $1
99.40% Ace$: 25¢, 50¢, $1
99.17% BP: 25¢, 50¢, $1, $2, $5,

Stephen,

Well, rats...one difference between Boyd and Stations is that the latter has so far been willing to leave a few fullpay machines alone. The FPDW must have died when Boyd ate Aliante.

The 14x multipluer, at $2 coin-in = 1 point, is worth .7%. This makes the NSUD worth 100.44 or so. It makes the 9/6 Jacks worth 100.24%. Still a pretty good play.

Don, I used to value Boyd comps at a little higher than 0.1% because if I spent them on Boyd businesses, such as the buffets, 600 points equaled $1--not 1,000. Is that still the case?

The $2 rather than $1 coin-in for a point at VP seems to me to be a new development, but I must admit, I haven't darkened Boyd's doorstep much since the players' club disaster.
