I don't know what the rate is when using the Boyd points for food.
The $2 coin-in = 1 point on video poker has been in effect since the "new and improved" club changeover, which took place 9/1/18.

I"ve been using points this year for food it"s still 600 per $1. 1000 points per $ in the gift shop and other charges.
Is it still true that the 9/6 JoB at Sam's Town is excluded from multipliers? Maybe even the 8/5 Bonus progressives on the floor...?
i don't know specifically about those machines, but Boyd's policy has been to exclude the good machines from multipliers for quite some time, at Sam's Town and elsewhere. Some machines here and there have slipped through the cracks.
Worst part is, unless you're Sapphire or higher, you won't have any way to definitively answer that question. You would think the presence or absence of a placard saying "This machine excluded from multipliers" would be sufficient, but I've come across other machines where the multipliers didn't work even in the absence of such signs.
My advice is to never set foot in, let alone give any action to, any Boyd casino.
Perhaps the Boyd boys will see this amount of displeasure displayed here and in other less visible PUBLIC sites and offer the minnows something. The Emails have indicated this trend at some apology attempt.
So far,not so much.
"OK,we are sorry and we fired the goof that convinced the bean counters to do this policy".
(It won't happen)

Hey,that was fun to write!
May I assume that these feelings are shared?
Let me count the ways. OK,you can count them.
I still like the MSS craps table(s) and the excellent, large bar top beers.Do they have red and green Lights?
Here I go on a side note:
Clever craps calls: "A THREE !=craps" That is a Larwence Welk; " a ONE and a TWO"
The sexist one: The call is a FIVE! ; A cocktailtail waitress; "A pair and a tray".
(Sorry for that one.)
Anyone else ordered a "blow job" at a gaming table? Not ever!
I play a lot of 25 cent and some 50 cent vp at fremont mainstreet and Orleans. I am at sapphire level. I personally have seen very little diff. It seems food credit has been decreased from 45% to 40 %. I get 3 day comp and at Fremont I get a 4 day comp. use my points for food. I don't even know if you get convert to free play.
I do know this. At my most recent trip MSS was handing out free buffets like candy at their players club kiosk. I got three of them over the course of a week with modest play. I didn't use any of them.....I'm in the minority of people that believes their buffet sucks.
Earlier this year I was bumped up to Sapphire as a "gift" (I've always been ruby). I continued to get free rooms, invitations to slot tournaments, kiosk games, etc. at the Boyd downtown properties all summer. But I just received my Jan and Feb "offers": $10 in free play. No rooms. Oddly enough, I do have a free room at the Gold Coast over March Madness weekend, but my MSS/Cal gravy train has apparently jumped the track.
We received ''we miss you'' offers from MSS, Cal & Fremont for 3 nights that we rarely received before.
How about "We won't forgive Boyd" for their paltry mailers to locals?
I received an offer for 14x points on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in September at the Gold Coast.
Ran through $88K. Received the mailer for November. Piece of garbage. $5 free play x 4 and play $150 and get $10 free play x 5.
Does anyone know if wins/losses has an impact on the Boyd mailers to locals?
