Bummed - returning to Vegas but already used the good LVA coupons.

Four Queens/Binion's still has an amazing fun book.

Is that opinion based on the latest version of it?   I have seen others mention that once again, they recently devalued the fun book, removing more of the best coupons.  I think it was posted that the Magnolia's 2/1 was a recent victim.   What are the 3 best coupons in the CURRENT version?

I remember the days when most casinos had a coupon book.  Getting it was half the fun because they didn't just hand them out like candy. I also remember the LVA's book had three coupons per page. It was more fun before the digital world.

If you're on your 3rd trip,  you can afford to miss out on the 2/1 and match plays. Spend a few days on museum trips and try hitting Mt. Charleston, Valley of Fire, and Red Rock Canyon.

We always do several non-gambling things. We've been going to Vegas for over 15 years now, and we're now on repeat adventures. It's a four-hour drive to Vegas, so we can do it on the weekend. We don't always go to gamble. I just love the feeling of walking around with the book and seeing what we can get. It's the thrill of the chase.

According to online reports, you have to be staying at the Four Queen or Binions to get the fun book. Has anyone been able to get one by just asking?

Nice.   We did our first trip to the Eureka during Labor Day Weekend....on that Sunday, so my wife also got the birthday freeplay.  I ended up 60 ahead and she was up around a hundred, and played most of it back, unfortunately.  Still had fun, and a comped breakfast as well.

I love Eureka!  I also found it because of LVA. They're super friendly people, and I have a mug from them for joining the players' club and earning like 25 points. We try to focus our gambling on three different players' clubs, though, to maximize our coin-in, so we don't spend a lot of time at the smaller casinos.

Yeah,  I remember the one at the Riviera.   Wife and I went there and I used the coupon for the wheel spin.   Won two tickets to Splash,  and the attendant didn't know what to do.

Ohhhh no. Ask the front deskling for one and they'll whip out a gun and snarl at you to back off.

In fact, if you're there on an offer, they'll also deny you a funbook. The only way you get one is if you booked your stay yourself and paid full rack rate.

The good (?) news is that according to reports, they've removed the best coupons, like the meal twofers, from the book anyway.

4Q is still not a bad destination, but they've been gradually tightening the screws for about a year now. Their promos are weaker, their room rates are higher, and their restaurant prices are verging on the ridiculous. And, sadly...they're downgrading their video poker.

Yes, definitely friendly and helpful.   Ladies in Fat Choy were great and the slot attendants were on point.  It is a pretty small place, so fairly easy and quick to get assistance.

Same here regarding trying to do new non-gaming activities.  Three hour drive for us, so going up on a Friday afternoon and coming back Sunday afternoon works out pretty well.  We are looking to take in a few concerts when we go back in late October.  Going to see Don't Kill the Magic and The Lead Singers of Classic Rock (Jason Schleff and Tommy DeCarlo) at the Westgate.  On other trips we have seen standup by Howie Mandel and also a concert by Don Felder.

Last trip for Labor Day we went to the Neon Museum.  We were there about an hour, which is about as much time as is needed.  On other occasions we ventured out to Summerlin to check out the Aviators, the A's Triple A team, or gone to the Pinball Hall of Fame, which is a blast if you are into pinball and old school video games.  Also, if you haven't done it yet, the Rat Pack is Back show at the Tuscany is really good.

When we go back next spring we will be looking into the Paradox and Illusion Museums, and see what they are all about, as well as the Jen Kramer Magic Show.

Remember the old days when the casinos didnt validate your coupons at the players club ?    I used to buy 3 American Casino guides.   I didnt make a bet anywhere without a matchplay coupon.    =)

Fun times.

I miss the ACG too. A thing of the past now that they now focus on live streaming.
