Casino Hosts accept gifts or tips?

If your host does a great job to help to making your trip the best it can be and you want to give them something. Can they accept gifts or tips?
I am fairly certain that they can accept cash. Everyone else can, I can't imagine why a host cannot.
I don't know if they can accept cash, but I know that they will.

Be discrete about it.
Been awhile since I've had a host worthy of a tip.
Usually when they become worthy? They leave or are let go. sigh.

But back in the old days, I gave Gift cards.
Like if I knew my host was doing some remodeling at home, I'd give a Home Depot Gift card, etc.

Friend of mine who always tips her host, gives bottle of wine or goodie basket.

I was told cash is frowned upon for hosts.
Must admit, I never tried giving any. lol

OK I'm a little behind on this thread.

We're pretty low rollers, so our Host doesn't do much but book our room and apply our comps at the end of our trip.

I still always like to give her a little something to say thank you in the hopes it will pay off. LOL
I've given a Juicy Couture, Eiffel Tower charm, since we stay at the Paris. The last trip was a Michael Kors make-up bag and and some Mary Kay perfume. I think the Make-up bag was the biggest hit so far. she's not very chatty and we don't talk much so I don't know nuch about her.

There is a famous restaurant/maple-sugar-house near my home,
and I bring always bring an assortment of maple flavored candy and treats.

Before even seeing this thread, I just a few minutes ago, on a whim, decided to email my host and at least thank her, tell her she gave excellent service, and asked her if she had an immediate supervisor that I could send my compliments to. I don't know if that's something she'll even care about (the entire email), or if she'll really appreciate it, or if she'll roll her eyes or what, but I figured I'd try, and hopefully in the future she'll continue to give me good service. I don't know, next time I go out I probably will tip her.
Cash tips depend on the casino. Some allow them, others don't. That being said, all the hosts/hostesses I've known appreciated a gift card and/or a small thank you gift.

Find a slot supervisor of some sort and ask what their policy is.

How do you know if the casino will allow cash or gifts. I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but do want to let the host know he's appreciatedĀ
