A couple questions (Total Rewards, Venetian...)

Hi,

I had started a thread a few months ago asking questions about comps and everyone was really helpful, thanks. So now after the couple trips I've taken so far this year, I've really started getting good offers. Better than I expected, at least. So with Total Rewards, which is where I focused most of my efforts, I have a decent list of offers for the usual stuff- free rooms, discounted rooms, some food, entertainment, etc. Nothing too great except I was offered a couple free tickets to Tim McGraw. They're probably crappy seats although I haven't asked for specifics. Anyway, I was hoping for some slot play offers, but all I've gotten is one that is for staying at Imperial Palace and get $100 reel rewards or gaming vouchers. Is that basically just free slot play/match play for table games? I just find it odd that that's the only slot thing I've gotten from them, but I've gotten other slot offers from other properties that I've barely even used.

-Stratosphere sent me an offer for a few nights in a suite and $175 slot play and all I did was stay and play for one night there.

-Venetian sent me an offer for 3 nights, $150 slot/match play, and 2 tickets to Phantom, and I have literally never given them a single dime.

Meanwhile, I apparently have a host now with TR. I got a call from a lady a few weeks ago saying she was my "casino sales executive" and that I could book everything through her now.

So here are some questions:

-Can I get better stuff from her than I can on my TR offers page? Or will she just book those same offers for me?

-Why did Venetian send me such a good offer? And how did they even get my info?

-Will TR let me use more than one offer at once?

-I have an offer for a "free electronics gift" from Imperial Palace. Anyone know what it is that they give away?

Thanks again...
In my experience with free show tickets from casino/hotel offers, the seats have always been above average.
At CET properties (total rewards), you need to book offers 48 hours a part. Sometimes it's better to book these by phone then online. I've never had a host offer me more (in Vegas) then what I could book online for myself. I have had a local host help resolve a problem that happened in Vegas or book me a comped room on a Saturday night when the computer offered it for a fee.

What type of better stuff are you looking for, more free play, upgraded rooms, show tickets to headliner shows, etc? Your level of play, daily average, will determine if the host can do anything more. Usually CET sends mailers that detail the type of gift offered.

Sorry, can't help you with Venetian as I never got on their radar. The people I know who used to be on their radar are not too pleased with how they recently pulled comps and are not ready to do business with them. They might be sending you offers because they are hurting for business as they pissed off many of their "gold card members."
To answer your questions:

I've never been offered anything better than what the website (or quarterly magazine) has offered me. Then again, I've never tried.
Hosts make a living on bringing people in. They personally figure out a way to somehow get everyone's information and move on to another property. When they cross reference your name with the existing list at their new job, they try to pull you in. It makes them look good, it brings a new customer to the property and you get a really good comp. It's a win/win for everyone.
More than one TR offer at once? Sometimes. I've had it work and not work. I think there is some magic coding behind the offers that I don't understand. I know some with a much higher bankroll than me and they have no problem...so maybe it's based on level of play.
I can't say I have much, if any, experience at IP, but it might not be worth your time.

PS -- To Lisa, Venetian unleashed the flood gates on comps again. Whatever system they had at the beginning of the year is gone.

Yeah, I'm one of the players they pissed off (although not gold card level.) I actually received that same offer last week and threw it away. One, I really don't want to give them more money when they, as in Sheldon, don't appreciate the mid-level gamblers that are their current bread and butter. Two, I don't trust the fine print on the invite as I may not "maintain my historical level of play."And, three, others on the LVA have reported having reservations cancelled last minute by the V/P;so, I don't want to trust my trip to them.I'd rather stay at the Ho, like I'm doing at the end of this week, than give another dime to Sheldon.
