Downtown Grand matchplay strategy

Apparently, they are offering a $50 match play if you book online. And you also have the LVA $50 matchplay coupon. Now, each coupon has a mathematical value of slightly less than $25. Here's how to put that value in your pocket no matter what:

Go to the craps table. Bet $50 with the coupon on the Pass line. At the same time, bet $75 on the Don't Pass line. To cover the possibility of a comeout 12, bet $2 on the 12 (prop bet).

Now, no matter what happens, you will score a $23 profit, unless there's a comeout 12, in which case, you will only win $10 ($60-50). In all cases, when the Pass Line bet is resolved, pick up your bets and walk away. DO NOT keep playing!!

Space out the two matchplay plays rather than doing both at once, as some pit worms voice objections when you do this, even though you are absolutely not violating any rules. If you ARE told that, just shrug and come back later, when said worm has slithered away.

Yes, because people take expensive trips to Las Vegas in hopes of enjoying the mathematical certainty of likely maybe winning the cash equivalent of a lonely lunch for one back home at Chipotle, AND pissing off a casino employee.

Sounds really, really super fun!

Dan, why are you being a douchebag? Some people want to maximize the expected value of the bonuses, goodies, comps, coupons, etc. they receive. What's wrong with that?

And no casino employee should get "pissed off" at a player making two offsetting bets at once. It's perfectly within the rules.

Now, please don't let your political hatred leak out of the Sink. Your comment was gratuitous and pointless.

You can get exactly the same long-term expected win by simply playing according to the casino's rules.

You instead choose to purposefully irritate the casino's employees.

I'm sorry, I'll use your revealing term: "pit worms".

The asinine and stupidly false nature of your statement that I deliberately antagonized the dealers reveals you as a...player worm.

Obviously (duhhh!), I would have preferred if the dealers knew the rules and I got in and out of there with no conflict.

I'll rephrase.

This indeed is a classic Kevin thread.  Thanks for calling our attention to this one.

Your political hatred is showing. Don't let it dominate you.

Dan, you're babbling like a moron. I WAS playing according to the casino's rules. Stop and think hard for ten or so hours and you may understand.

Nothing wrong with Kevin's advice, it's good to see how to make the most of your bets and he has great insights into these things.  Just using the LVA coupon book is an advantage play and doesn't make you a casino worm, just someone that likes a good deal and a fair chance to keep your money.

This strategy outlined by Kevin is interesting and I appreciate it.
