Four Queens new comp system for food

Rec, You can use comps in the gift shop. They do exclude certain items, gift cards for one example. They read me a short list, but I most of the exclusions weren't an issue for me so I don't recall them all.

Thanks for that! I don't think that I have ever used any comp points. Should I inquire at the Slot Club desk whether I have any comp dollars and if so, how many?

But I haven't gotten an offer from them recently. Maybe I didn't play enough there (although the last couple of times I've been staying at Plaza the whole time).

The comp account is a new program there. Unless you played in the past month or so, I would expect zero in your comp account. No need to inquire, when you put you card in any machine, it reads out your comp dollars as well as points. If you received a letter from them with an offer of start up comps for your account, you need to present that letter to the desk to have it added to your account.

I agree. I wouldn't expect having a comp balance until you play under this new system.

Ah, ok! I didn't know if there was something before and I just didn't use it.

I'm saying this because for many years, Plaza and Las Vegas Club have also had a separate comps account, but it never has said anything when you have had a card in the machine's card reader. You always had to go to the Slot Club desk and find out how many comp Dollars you had (if any) to use.

The comp dollars were readable on machines at Binions since at least 3 years in the past. Sounds as if 4q is being 'aligned.' Maybe the systems merge?

I haven't really played at Binions in many years since the decent VP went away so I would not have known about that. If I put my Four Queens card into a Binion's machine, I don't know if I would have been able to see how many Comp Dollars (if any) I have/had.

Still different numbers at Benny vs 4q. I got their 450q SF only once before the downgrade. I still stop in for clancy's beans. Good luck!
I've always found both 4 Queens and Binions very liberal on their comps. I once earned 24 cans of pepsi in half an hour playing slots, it was a promo, which I ended up giving away in the street because I was flying out later that day. Most mornings at Binions you can play and earn a certain number of points, then pick up their prize(s) of the day which are pretty cool. I got a weather clock and other bits last year.

USed to be that an hour on a blackjack table at $10-$15 per hand at 4 Queens was enough to ask for and get an open food comp in Magnolias. Hopefully that hasn't changed too much with new computation. An hour at $15 x 60 hands = $900 playthrough, circa $18 typical house edge (allowing for average non-perfect player), so a $10 comp isn't out of the question assuming they comp back up to 40% value.
