Golden Nugget Comps...

1. Haven't been to the D. I just read about the 4%, I will check that out on my next visit.

2. I did read that the 4% is for the midi bac game. Most likely at least $25 min. I have never seen a midi bac game for less. It is very slow so they keep the high min.

3. I am curious how they comp that game.

4. Let me know how you like staying downtown.
IIRC, I saw something online saying that The D has a sign on the table saying that play is not rated at the 4% Bac game.

I actually reviewed the D for an unrelated gambling message board at which I am an Administrator. I don't know how LVA feels about the posting of external links, or even mentioning another site by name (haven't read the posting Rules yet) so if you can clarify that, I'll either post a link or tell you the site. That, or you could PM me.

1.) That's correct, though they are considering getting rid of it, so you'd better get there fast. From what I have been told, the game is still not terribly popular, so they might make the commission 5%. I believe, in Asian culture, four is a terribly unlucky number, so that could be part of the problem.

2.) I stayed at The D for five nights, but I only paid attention to the Table Min/Max on a Sunday because that is the day I wrapped up all of the stuff for my review. In any event, the minimum bet was $50 on that day.

To your comment that it is slow, in five days, I did not see so much as a single person ever play it. I sure hope tips are pooled there, but they may not be, for the Party Pit girls.

3.) I'm afraid I would have no idea.

4.) It's great, would never stay anywhere else!

From what I'm understanding, at least in one of the Chinese dialects, the pronunciation for the word "Four" is very similar to the word that is used for the word "Death." And so there are people out there who want to avoid anything sounding like Death.

But ironically, as Anthony mentioned in the February 2014 LVA, when you play the 5% commission game, the casino advantage becomes .44% higher than the 4% commission game. The number .44% should be even more significant for these superstitious people because this number is Forty Plus Four and so for these superstitious people, that is twice the mention of the number Four!

Mission146, is that you?! No, don't answer that. I know who you are. Cheers. See you on the other side.

Fancy meeting you here!

Don't worry, I'm not applying for alternative (volunteer) Forum employment. I needed this coupon book for my upcoming article (April trip) and figured I might as well check out the Forums since I effectively paid to do so anyway.

This place seems cool, though, so I'll pop in and out of here every now and then.

There is good information here and the people here (at least in the paid forums) are nice!

I should imagine, getting banned from a Forum in which you are paying to post is certainly -EV!!!
