Harrah's (CET) or MLife...pros and cons

OK...I'm not new to Las Vegas, and have always been a Total Rewards player...(slots and some BJ)...I realize that the CET payouts, in general, just plain suck.....but are the "other guys" that much better?? Am I losing bank because I have been faithful to CET? I generally make 4 to 6 trips to Vegas a year, from the midwest, and almost always have a couple of nights comped..(by mail offers)...I would really like to hear all opinions on the pros and cons of CET, MLife, and especially Station casinos. Thanks in advance to ALL who HAVE an opinion...I promise to listen carefully!
I believe the biggest problem with MLife is that you are never really sure if there will be a _resort fee_, even if the room is comped. When they first started the resort fee, they said that there was a resort fee, even on comped rooms. Now we hear stories of maybe there is, maybe there isn't, and maybe you have to fight for it to be taken off your bill.

I can't be bothered with that, and I haven't set foot in an MGM-Mirage casino in over a year. Maybe two years.

CET has no resort fees, and Stations make it clear when you make your reservation online if there is a fee, and if it is waived.

However, there is often a resort fee on your bill anyway at Stations, and you have too speak to the front desk to get it removed. It happened to us at Green Valley Ranch just last month.

By the way, Welcome!

My last 3 trips to MGM properties the resort fee was waived as the room was comped.
As primarily a table player,I am definitely treated better by MGM properties than I was at Harrahs.
As a slot/vp player you should looka at do the pay tables at CET justify the easier free rooms.
For me,the resort fees put me on the plus side as I use the gym and high speed internet. To those that do not I can see it being a problem.
If you go to Vegas that often I can not understand why you would want to give either one of them your business. Any local's casino will give you a better deal than any strip casino. Easy free rooms and food are available along with better pay offs. Which are the best is subjective but our favorites:
South Point
Palms
Station Properties
Boyd Properties

I'm always alittle suspicious when a Newbie asks a question like that as their First post.
Like which Casino co do you work for? Who are you reporting on? And to whom?
Weve had our share of new casino suits fishing for info here, or reporters looking for stories....
Not that there's anything wrong with it........just the truth helps with the discussion.

And if YOUR situation is a true story, and you do in fact come to vegas 4-6 times a year with CET,
you most certainly get More than "a couple of nights comped..(by mail offers)..."
unless you play absolutely minimal? What level are you?
CET loves slot players & with that many trips, you should be staying comped 3-5 nites per trip.

Suspicous?

I don't see anything strange in this posting.

If a REAL SUIT actually cared, then I think many here would love to give them two cents worth of feedback. Actually, this question, in various versions have been asked over and over and over.
I like to suggest that you may want to "search" for info on each the clubs that you mentioned.
Least you won't have to deal with some attitudes like two of the posters presented.
Agree with KSeitz but, more importantly, if you are a big slot player I think you have much more of a chance to win at those properties based on more machine payout options and higher returns.

We were both Diamond at Harrahs and now play exclusively at Boyd, SouthPoint and the M although we are still exploring other "local" options.

Also...it doesn't take long to start getting comped rooms at those properties. Last September, for the first time in many years we paid for rooms at Southpoint because we wanted to try it out but, one phone call to the host before checkout got the rooms comped as well as my haircut and spa visit and, besides all of that, we won money on the trip.
Between the two I pick CET as I live near Harrahs Cherokee and earn points there. In the good old days played a lot also at MGM properties as well as Station and Palms. I also had great comps from Planet Hollywood before they became part of CET.

I know Vegas CET casinos are tight. But, compared to my one visit to Cherokee, they look like a million dollar giveaway.

As to staying or not staying at MGM because of possible resort fee on comps - I agree with being concerned.

BUT - if you are getting a free room, and some free food, and drop (give away) hundreds a day while playing, why does $15-$20 cause such a ruckus. Granted, I have only paid a resort fee once and it sucks, but in the big picture????? CET rarely gives me free food.
