Impact of time between trips on Comps

Here's a question for the group. I am only able to get to Vegas once a year and in a really good year twice. How does that length of time between trips impact the offers I get. I know that a lot is dependent upon how much I gamble but are there any strategies I should employ to maximize my offers? I play BJ 15-25 a hand and .25 to 1.00 VP as my main games and generally like to stay off strip. Thanks for the insight.
That may very well differ from casino to casino, but I would recommend playing at a lower end place such as El Cortez which has some good Blackjack and Video Poker and where they offer completely separate Cashback or Freeplay plus Comp Dollar accounts!

I always go November and March. Even with the longer time between the March and Nov trip I have never had any problems. Even at South Point who is week with mailers they have been getting better.

I call my host and my getting comped rooms is never a question. This for a .50 single line VP player. I know developing a relationship at one place (home base is good. March will be my 7th stay at SP. So good to find a place you like and make it your home base.

Casinos look more at your average daily play than at length of time between trips. Give a casino a good day of play during a trip, and don't do any "short days."

That is so true and important to not short play your main casino.

On my last trip I was switching casinos. I checked out early on moving day and no play that morning until I got to the next place so not mess up my daily average.

If you get in say 11:30 pm and get the urge to play, should one wait until after midnight to play with your card inserted into the machine?

Yes.
Don't short play your card. I usually bring hubbys or kids card to put on a few points
when I feel like playing, but not on mine til I can get a full day.

Different casinos have different times when they start their "day." You'll need to find out when the day starts at the casino you're playing at. It could be 3 a.m. or 6 a.m., or whatever.

Thanks Ms. Casey and CLV:

Here is what Caesars sent me..

Thank you for contacting Caesars Palace!

We appreciate your interest in our casino offerings. In regard to our casino day, the hours of a casino day are approximately 5am to 5am. I hope this is helpful, Please let us know if we can assist you further.

Wishing you happy holidays from your friends at Caesars Entertainment!

If one gets in around midnight, it's probably better to use your card at around 5 am vs upon late night arrival, if you are working to achieve a high gambling day.
