LVA Coupon for Sand Dollar royal flush at the Plaza

Not really.  Hard to get a real glass or real drink that they want to comp.  The Golden Nugget used to treat us pretty good at the bars, but didn't give us any free rooms and the poker room turned sour so we crossed them off the list.  I would be interested to hear any thoughts on the Golden Nugget

I was just reminded that the other reason we stopped going to the Golden Nugget was they took out the buffet. Although smaller than the Main Street buffet, it was always a better deal with a coupon

They had the very first buffet downtown ("The Buffet") way back when, and I remember it as being small but good--a better alternative to the Fremont buffet across the street. Remember when we had choices??

The GNoog really has some shitty gambling. And the poker room's rake is absurd, especially given that they fund their promos at less than 50% of the money collected returned to the players.

The Golden Nugget was my go to place in the 1990's. The pool area was nice with a mist to cool off. The spa great. The buffet good. Plus free entertainment .Everything was spit shined clean. The gambling fair. Now it appears to be a bit funky. Still visit Only short walk though.unfortunately the buffet are disappearing all over Las Vegas. What a shame. Replaced with food courts. They are ok for a soft drink orsnack. Nevertheless if I want fast food I don't need to go to Las Vegas.Just stay home and go to The Mall.I miss the buffet with reasonable prices. There are still a few.Yet another thing if they offer dinner they close early.

D:  Bar Canada VP is ploppie paytable city.   Walk 50 steps to Vue Bar where they have the best low roller hustle downtown for booze.   8/5 BP three way progressive.   And I'm happy to report they FINALLY stopped playing that god awful club music 24/7 with volume set to STUN.  Someone with a brain figured out that the early morning boomer crowd likes oldie rock n roll-pop.  Volume turned down a bit as well.

Boyd:  Bartops are all trash from what I've observed.

Circa:  Bartops also trash.   8/5 BP (0.50+ denom) is on pretty much all machines overlooking the sportsbook (50+ machines) but they quit spitting out drink vouchers well over a year ago.  It's a pleasant place to play in the morning before all the bro hipsters wake up.   Cocktail servers usually offer decent service here at the bird's nest overlook.

GGate:  Bartops are trash and the area is very cramped

Plaza:  9/6 Jacks at sportsbook bar, main bar by the pit and Sand Dollar bar.  I think it might just be 0.50 and up though.   It's now $10/pt instead of $3/pt so that free pizza slice Monday takes $1k coinin.   Note that Sand Dollar Bar only operates 4p-4a so not ideal for those who like a quiet gaming environment.

smEl Cortez: Nothing at the three bars from what I've observed.

I've been playing at the Vue for at least 7 years.  They have ALWAYS had oldie rock playing at reasonable volumes, unlike the lower floor.  And, for the entire day, not just the morning.  That's been my experience, this is nothing new.

Second floor of D isn't an area I've spent a lot of time in the past.   Thanks for the clarification.

During periods when Sand Dollar is charging a cover has anyone tried to circumvent this fee given that casinos cannot charge a cover for areas where gaming is available?   Patrons who are actively gaming were always exempt.   Used to be a good way to get into strip clubs for free back in the day.   But for this one I'm actually interested as a player who wants to put the LVA $500 coupon to use.

Or did the Nevada legislature finally pass SB 444 to allow exemptions to this old rule?

This might be a good one for LVA Question of the Day....

"casinos cannot charge a cover for areas where gaming is available"  Mannydogpro, this is news to me, I had never heard of this.  I'll be very interested in an answer, there was a cover charge every evening when we were there back in February so I was unable to use the coupon.

I doubt we'll get an answer since LVA likely doesn't want anyone 'rocking the boat' with Plaza thus risking future participation with coupon offers.
