MGM Junket

So this is new to me, I got a junket offer from MGM to fly from Ft. Wayne, IN to Biloxi, MS for $40, but in return I'd get $40 freeplay and three comped nights. Although Ft. Wayne is not exactly a convenient jaunt from Lansing, MI (where I live), I've never received a junket offer from MGM, only CET.

I wondered if folks might be able to share their experiences on getting MGM junket offers? Things like, frequency of those offers? Where you'd fly from and where they were flying you to?

I'd be interested in drumming up some discussion on these boards so wondered if folks would share their experiences!

If your offer includes 3 nights at Beau Rivage, take it.

BR is the nicest hotel on the Biloxi Coast (IMO) though many debate the gambling value, especially for video poker. I'd been getting this offer for years, but thought I "liked" Vegas better. Well, a free 55 minute flight from Little Rock beats the hell out of a $350, 3 1/2 hour flight to Vegas (for two, which we still do on occasion); the hotel is a "mini Bellagio". The rooms are nice, ask for ocean view. I say nicest hotel, though the newest is Scarlet Pearl which I hear have way gorgeous rooms. Rooms at BR are not THE fanciest, but I actually like it better than Bellagio, and I'm a hardcore Bellagio fan.

I was at Beau Rivage last week (the charter--they don't call them junkets anymore). They have $10 blackjack tables with 3:5 pay for Blackjacks which is no longer the case at Bellagio in Vegas. I saw a one (1) deck table. VP is sure enough lousy, buy there are many casinos close by or reachable by the "Hopper" which you can pay something like $6 for all day rides to many casinos. Even the Hard Rock next door has better VP and a little play gets you many good offers for a long time. I am talking $130-$170 for each of two days while I'm in Biloxi.

I'm not sure I'd drive a lot of hours to reach the airport to take advantage of the offer, but the offer itself is quality. It comes with 2 buffets, but you don't get two if by yourself, which I complained about in this last customer survey. But they have good places to eat at BR and you can use your Express Comps to pay for food at all the outlets including buffet.
Thanks, O2, for the review, I appreciate it. Because I've never been offered an MGM charter (thank you, that was the word I was looking for when I was saying 'junket'), I kinda want to take them up on their offer to show them they should keep me in their rotation of offers!
You are welcome, Tony. Glad to help. I'm surprised they kept sending them to me for so long before I took the first one. I guess because I was keeping Bellagio afloat.

BTW, you get free alcoholic drinks (or non, if you prefer) on the plane. Our flight is so short to Biloxi that they (Sun Country) barely get one drink pass done, but from Ft. Wayne you might get more.

BTW, if you would be ordering a gin and tonic, Sun Country doesn't carry limes on board. What's a g&t without a lime wedge? I learned to take my own lime slices from home! And BTW, no alcohol on the return flight. I guess they don't want us driving home drunk. LOL.

HAHAHAH...that's smart of them not to give us alcohol on the return flight. But how else am I supposed to make up for my loses while I'm in Biloxi?!?

That's also a good note about the lack of garnish. I'm surprised something as simple as lemons/limes wouldn't be kept on the plane. But, alternatively if we know that we should throw a couple in our carry-on, no biggie, right!?

I love that you have single handedly kept Bellagio afloat! We fellow donors appreciate your help! I've done my part to keep Bally's open!
