MSS Comps - How much daily coin-in for free play offer?

Thanks for the helpful info Kiwiboy
At MSS and the Cal there are many different sub levels of player status based upon your play.

Decent mailed offers start were you are at 3 nights anytime, invitations to mid level tournaments and $40 in food. For this you need to play 3000 plus coin in. You get the same offers as I do. Higher offers have free play instead of food starting at about $25 to $75. This is the highest I have seen on mailed offers that include rooms. On higher offers you will also get four free nights instead of three.

Slot play counts much more than VP for receiving offers. When my Mom was playing dollar slots at about 3000 to 4000 coin in per day, she was getting 4 nights anytime, $75 in free play and meals books. This offer is would probably require 7500 to 8000 coin in per day on VP. Starting with these offers they wanted her to reserve with a Casino Host.

At higher levels, probably 10,000 coin in per day VP you would qualify for a Silver Card for meals in addition to free play and meals.

Locals get more free play and food instead of rooms, I saw one offer that a $1 VP local received for a month that included 200 in free food and 300 in free play. This was broken down into equal amounts each week.

I have heard that for the MSS and Cal that the day starts at 3 A.M.

There are many different mailed offers. I have seen offers for more free play but one less night than someone else's offer. You can always call the direct marketing at MSS. They will not give you specific information as to how much coin in generates which offer, but will answer general questions.

Based on my experience per day coin in is important, and trip total is important. I have heard of people getting lesser offers if they play one day only. I tried using my free play offer for the Four Queens and gave them a normal days play as was downgraded on bi monthly offers

The Four Queens to my understanding is from 12 midnight to 12 midnight, but an odd thing happened on the one day I tried to play above. I played a little after midnight to about 1A.M. to start my day, then went to sleep, but when I checked with a host it was not credited to either day. This does not matter over a period of say three days, but I always start a trip at about 6A.M. to begin playing. About three thousand coin in gets 3 free nights anytime 40 to 80 in free play, usually no food, invitations to tournaments. At close to five thousand a day you get 200 in free play food in the coffee shop and the Brew Pub every day. Higher coin in gets the same three nights, but additional food options including Hugo's.

If you have questions on what coin in is required for offers you can call and ask to speak to a host at the Four Queens. They seem to have about 5 to 6 standard offers.

Regarding getting in late and how it affects the daily average is a problem, Sometime I solve it by just paying for the room ( Don't use Casino rate as they expect you to play you daily average). Both Casinos give a 10 percent discount for AAA. Four Queens has frequent sales on rooms on their website. I have paid as little as 25 dollars for a room at the Four Queens and about $30 for a room at the Cal midweek. Sometimes it pays for itself as Southwest flights are more expensive on Fridays than Thursday, so I actually save money by leaving closer to midweek.

Thanks, Lindsay for that information! That was very informative! So since I'm going to stay for 2 nights at Four Queens, I'm better off not playing between 12 Midnight and 1 AM as well? And so do you also think that I should not play there on the day that I'm checking out of there (since check out is as 12 Noon I think)?

On the day you check out I would not play. However if you can play more hours on the checkout day, lets say 6 hours versus only two hours on the first day due to a late flight arrival, I would do this. If you do arrive very late say after 10 p.m. on our arriving day, I would not play that day, get a good nights sleep, play a good amount on the one full day, then play whatever you can on the checkout date. The whole idea is that you stayed two nights if they are free nights, and you gave them two days of play.

As for the midnight to 1A.M. This issue only happened on the first day of play assuming I started at 12 midnight. Don't worry about this issue as you are plan to play two consecutive days.

Before you play and the day you checkout, you can check with one of the hosts to see what future offers you may receive based on your play.

You are allowed to check out at 1:00 P.M. if you call to the front desk as a rule. Sometimes you can get a later checkout than this if the hotel is not busy and you have played a good amount by checking with a host. This applies to MSS as well.

Good luck, please tell us how you do.

I believe Lindsay is correct saying you get better offers playing slots. I played over 4k at MSS on 10/7DB and all I get are offers for two free room nights. Since I won over 6k there a couple of weeks ago, they assigned me a host. I told her I would not alter my play per day or how many days I play there just because I won. I'm happy with the marketing offers.
Regarding MSS, I typically play $10k per day on the NSU deuces. I will mix in a bit of 10/7 DB for variety. Based on that level, I have been at 4 free night, silver card and $75 FP every month for years.

With Four Queens, I only play 10/7 DB one day per trip at about $5k coin in that day. They offer three free nights and $80 FP. I think the offer includes $10 in food but I'm not sure. I will only book a room if also invited to a tournament but I always use the free play when in town.

I played at the D for the first time last trip. About $4k coin in on NSU deuces for one day netted an offer of 3 free nights, $100 FP, $25 food and a $25 BJ matchplay. My wife played the same amount the following day and received the exact same offer.
Could you let me know how the meal books work? Are they like the ones they give for package tours from Hawaii? Do you know if I bring my wifre, would she get or need a meal book as well? I have a January offer that says it includes a meal book, as well as free play.
The meal coupons are the same ones the Hawaii tour packages receive. There are a number of restaurants they can be used at including options at Sam's Town and the Orleans. They can only be used for certain items and those are marked on the menu. Last time we had one of these books the coffee shop at the Orleans was valuing the dinner coupons at $15 per which means it covers an entree, salad and drink. They do this because they don't have designated items on the menu.

If you specify two people in the room on your reservation, you should be given two coupon books at check in. If you ask about upgrading to a silver card they will transfer you to a host who will either say no or send the request for approval which I believe is a formality. The biggest difference is that silver can only be used downtown but it covers all food and drinks at the non gourmet options rather than selected entrees only.
We find that MSS offers are shrinking fast. We have always had 3 nights comped anytime - each - and they let us put them back to back. Last 3 months we have each had 2 nights midweek per month. We do do have 3 nights at Christmas comped and a party invite. January 2014 - back to 2 nights midweek. Feb 2014 my wife gets 50% off rooms and I get a food credit - no rooms. Our level of play hasn't gone down. The only thing that changed was they sent me a satisfaction survey and I complained about one of their servers. Maybe you are only supposed to put compliments on their satisfaction survey!

Our offers just got downgraded, too. I've always gotten 3 nights and $30 food, been that way for at least four years. Wife has gotten 2 nights. Just got our February offers, I got 2 nights, she got only discounted rooms. No food. We haven't reduced our play at all. I can live with this, I guess, as long as the VP and the CB don't get downgraded.
