Anything we might tell you would be out of date by the time you get there. I suggest you examine the websites of the casinos you might consider visiting as the date of your visit draws closer.
As a general rule, the locals' casinos are more generous with this sort of thing, and the Strip casinos much less so.

If you are already a regular at a casino, as in have a players card account, you may receive an "offer" closer to your birthday month. Depending on how much action you give them the "special" may range from $10 off the cost of a hotel night or $10 in Free Play all the way to bigger and better Free Play, Food Credits (most call them Resort Credit). Those are usually good for any day during the month of your birthday (or maybe just Sunday through Wednesday, or maybe the second Tuesday of each month...LOL.
Are any specials known today for the month of October? You could call and speak to someone at the Players Club at your favorite hotels, but I'd guess it to be a long shot to get that information right now. Some do send their best players the best offers several months in advance, enough span of time of the offer to make plans.
Otherwise, when you go, every casino you drop in to play, go to the Players Club and ask. Naturally most specials (comps, slot tokens, match plays, free drink, ice cream cone, etc.) will require that you at least have a Players Card account, which you can sign up for right then. And in fact, signing up at a new place often carries with it some sort of new member perk. Every place you go to eat, mention it is your birthday month and "do you have any specials?" Even when they don't have an official birthday perk it isn't unheard of to get a surprise free dessert or something brought out at the end of your meal. So always ask...when you are first seated.
Good luck!

I think it comes down to the "it never hurts to ask" metric so often stated by Jean Scott. When I lived in Vegas, I asked at every casino I visited and every casino where I belonged to the players' club. Sometimes the goodies were really good, like a $25 free bet or a $20 food credit--even if I hadn't put in any significant play recently.
I think Candy has it right. Nowadays, the few promotions that remain almost never include much of anything for the random schmuck who walks in the door. They want you to join the players' club or loyalty club or whatever. So while it being his birthday month might get Joe Gambler a complimentary doughnut (plain) at the Golden Commode, if Joe is a member of the Commodore Club, he will probably get something pretty decent.
Excalibur and Luxor on the Strip give you $20 free play within a week of your birthday. Since these are MGM properties, you need to get an M-Life players card. Have a nice trip.
For anyone who is going to be in Las Vegas on their birthday, I hope that they will have the best thing for their day - GOOD LUCK!
