room comps

Are all these room comps I read about from pumping money into video poker and slots?  We play mostly poker and blackjack.  I want free stuff, dammit!  Also, are these comped rooms coming from mailings after previous stays or are arrangements being made in some way?  Thanks.

You can get mailers playing blackjack if you play high enough for long enough.

For poker, if you you play about 16 straight hours you should get enough comp points for a sandwich. Just make sure to pick up that sandwich before those points expire.

JFO: You are darn right :))))) Especially in terms of Poker Comp by the hour (is it 1 or 2 dollars at Venetian?), it has to be taken into serious consideration that even a 2 dollar/hour comp at Venetian is not halfway as good as a 1 dollar/hour poker comp at Palace Station. How is that?

1) The restaurants at Venetian are super charged

2) The buffet at Palace Station is really good now. Clean, nice, good food...and extremely cheap !!!

People looking for room discount on their poker play are wise playing offstrip and not in one of those fancy casinos on Center Strip.  I think you get a discount playing 5 hours at the Mirage. Hence, what good is a 20 or 25 dollar room discount if they jack-up that hotel rate with a 40 dollar resort fee?

I strongly encourage serious players looking for discounts on their room rates contacting places such as Santa Fe Sation, Palace Sation, Orleans , or red rock. These places all have a variety of games and give you a break if you give them casino action.

TI is advertising on TV, 3 nights for the price of 2, plus some other stuff, and I think I saw "no resort fee" but I might have been hallucinating.  LVA website has deals, so look around here as well.  

You must use the players card to get in the system for offers.

The "free" stuff costs plenty, more than the actual 'price.'   But if you are going to pump the money in anyway, you might as well get something for it.

Call places of interest, ask if they have any promotions going on.

My comps fell into a black hole a few years back.

DTG gave me 2 nights FREE for 2-3 hours of BJ on reds and greens.2016.

You don’t need to play to get room offers.    Just sign up for the players club and you’ll get free rooms at many places.    Tropicana, Stratosphere, the D, plaza, stations ...just to name a few.   I regularly get free room offers from all of them with not much of any action.   

Its frustrating when when you get offers from places you dont give any money to....and then get zilch from the places you do.  

it's because too many people want the free stuff and not enough people actually give action to the casinos , so the corporations had to do something about. If the players would play and then get a comp based on their play the sytem would work for both. AS long as there are too many people not gambling much but hustling out the free stuff it's only a matter of time until mangement has to pull the breaks and cut down on spending. It's logical consequence.

I recommend to play some in the range of 4000-6000 dollars coin-in per day because this should be a fair amount of play and give you comps and free rooms for your next stay. Play 10,000 dollars coin-in then everything should be all set.

  I did 2 hours at the DTG at green and red on BJ and got 2 nights comped in 2016.
