Searching for Gold (Status)

I currently have pearl status at MGM due to having the MGM/FNBO credit card.  I don't play nearly enough at MGM properties to earn even that level.  I will be in Vegas June 3-10, staying at MGM properties, and was hoping to somehow achieve gold status so I can get the resort fees waived.  I plan on applying for the Station Casinos Mastercard while I'm there to get the $50 freeplay, which will get me Platinum status at Stations.  Is there any way that I can parlay that into MGM gold?  I do not yet have a players card at either Resorts World or Fontainebleu.

As of May 1, Station Casinos discontinued its Mastercard program with FNBO.

Just the other day I looked up my MGM account on line.  There was a mention of tier upgrading if a "VIP players card" from another casino is presented.  Not sure if that applies to certain other casinos or any, but I interpret as meaning a higher tier card, e.g. Harrah's Diamond Elite or Maybe even a Harrah's Diamond Plus.  Check it out.
