Just so you know, I saw on their website that the Skyline shrimp cocktail is now $3.45 which will probably result in another "suspension" from the LVA folks.

skyline continues to go downhill after they opened their hotel
best casinos in henderson are the 3 on water street
used to be one of the better VP destinations in the city. Full pay vp at the bar and a good Prime Rib deal. Both are gone. No reason to go there now.
To be fair, the VP was destroyed by a single player--a machine hog who played three FPDW machines at once. As far as I could tell, he played accurately, though with all the movement he had to make, I think he would have gotten in more hands per hour if he played two machines. Anyway, people complained. And Skyline had those machines for a long, long time, but they couldn't put up with this asshole.

Younger guy? I think I saw the nerd a few times even though I'm a non-local.

Yeah, couldn't have been more than 30 or so.

That is him. I knew he was going to blow it. Why didn't they just restrict him to one machine? I kind of liked that place. It was like walking a time warp back 30 years.

Yeah, we used to call it the "Slimeline," back when it was a real dive. The clientele looked like they had been thrown out of a homeless shelter. But...a cheap coffee shop (cheaper than food!) and good VP. The thing is, there wasn't all that much reason to go there when there were good games everywhere. But they hung in there with the FPDW (in, I think, an alcove called the "Deuces Corral") long after all the other crudsinos stomped it flat. That's why I'd like to see that idiot's balls torn off by a rabid wolverine. The play might have persisted for years if he hadn't been so fucking greedy and burned it out.
Those were 10-coin .25 machines, too, so you could make $15 an hour playing just one machine. It was a great low-roller play. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest his underwear for killing it.

I played it too. Machines were slow in the "old corral" but there was something about those old machines and that place I liked.....sans the smoke of course.
This reminds me of my 40th HS reunion last year. None of us are as good as we used to be. This goes for COMPS too. Adjust folks. I do have another Vegas trip planned in the next 3 years. I do enjoy reading all the stories about the old days and have a few of my own. I had a full head of hair back then. I'm heading to Glacier NP, Yellowstone NP and Rocky Mountain NP. I'm also heading to the Gulf, Key West, and Charleston. Gambling is great in moderation.
