So, I'm Thinking About Contacting a Host for My Year-End Trip

As noted in my recent post under CET, I played a LOT this past trip, a fair amount with my own initial bankroll and also churning quite a bit as I got couple of royals, Aces with kickers, 4OAKs with multipliers (DOUBLE STP is my game) etc. (Yes, I know once I got those wins I could have kept it all and just hung out by the pool for the rest of my trip but that wouldn't have been as much fun. ) When I returned home I realized I should have contacted the host who gave me her card (she's the one who arranged for the nice room at Bally's) as I think I might have even been eligible to get my airfare back or some other perk (I flew using FF tickets) as the room was great but I had no room charges to comp off, etc.

Anyway, my bankroll at the end of the year (7 day trip between Christmas and New Years) will be smaller but I'll be saving up and it'll be decent, for me. Because of my August play and a recent trip to AC (similar luck as above), my offers are increasing exponentially. I suspect I will get good offers to stay at a comped room at Bally's, possibly even Caesars, through New Years and would be happy with that though I might not get 7 nights straight during that time, so that's why I am thinking about contacting a host but I have a couple of questions and concerns.

First, is she going to expect similar play to my August trip or is less play okay with whatever she does for me being viewed partially as a recognition for my play in August? I do NOT want to be worried about whether I am playing "enough" as that would take enjoyment out of the trip but I won't be stiffing CET either. I basically want to maximize comps and think a host in this case might make a difference but I'm not sure.

Second, if I do decide to contact a host should I wait until say mid-November to see what offers I would get on my own anyway so that I could go to her and have her book the offers and supplement them (by say adding 2-3 days on the front end of the trip) or should I reach out sooner to her given that the end of the year is a busy time?

Lastly, years ago I actually got a comped room at Caesars and two comped tickets to Celine Dion for NYE. It included a party and fabulous gift. (This was when Caesars was part of Caesars Entertainment BEFORE it became part of HET, which is now called CET. LOL.) Would love that offer again but I've been an extremely low roller in the past few years, with the exception of this past trip. Was curious from CET players who play more -- or even players at MGM properties -- whether room comps, with comped tix, around NYE is something that casinos still do?

Thanks in advance for any comments on these questions or related issues.

Edited to add: I have a LOT of TR credits now (in part because of August and in part because of an AC multiplier), even before what I hope will be a $450 or $600 TR credits addition as a result of the Great Race rewards promotion, so if a room is super cheap on say Christmas evening and the day after, I wouldn't mind "paying" for those rooms up front, knowing the worst-case scenario that even if the rooms weren't comped off at the end I could just use points to cover the cost. I'd be willing to use as much as $150 of my points to do that as I love the idea of staying in once place again for seven straight days, particularly during the winter when it DOES get cold in LV!
FF- I think you should raise the bar & contact a Caesars Host.
See what they can do for you before contacting Ballys host.
I KNOW what kind of play you had. You could easily stay at C. if you want to with your play.
And you don't need to make any promises about that trips play. Stuff happens.
Just play how you want, and don't worry about it.
Live off the fumes of Last trip for awhile.
Hey CLV, Thanks for the tips. It is certainly my desire to "live off the fumes" LOL but just wasn't sure what the deal would be. I actually hadn't thought about contacting a Caesars host but will do. If you or anyone else has suggestions re: a host there, please let me know. Would you wait for a month or so before contacting? I'm thinking by late October that the Christmas/NYE offers should be out but I'm not sure. If true, I might just wait until then.

Hope all is well!
Uh, you forgot one VERY important question to ask.....

Sir, do you have a 2br suite for me and my nickel playing friend??

I'm not too proud to ride ur fumes!!

LOL! Good grief, I have a comped forum tower room at Caesars while we are there in December. If I do, then you Totally rate one!

I'm leaving before NYE tho...

Can't wait...
diane

Diane,

LOL. You can ride my fumes any time.

Keeping my fingers crossed re: the host. Stations offers just popped up and as a back up I booked 3 comped nights at Red Rock. I didn't have that over the summer but because of my play at Palace in August, looks like comped at RR is coming up again!

See you in December!

Seems CE has figured out who I am........or am not.........so checked end of year.......
Appears the Only CE prop thats coming up comp for NYE is IP. I dont' think so.
Looks like Reno will be in our end of year plans instead. hurump

I am wondering if it's too early to check though?? I have a January offer already but I feel like more holiday offers may come around. You should call a host too!
Well, if you find a Good Caesars host?
Please PM me FF, cuz I appear to be off their radar at the moment.........
Haven't contacted a Caesars host yet but will do. Most I was able to do online was 5 nights at Bally's South Tower though I assume I will wind up in North Tower and the 5 nights included the NYE weekend. Will PM you after I talk to a host. Hope all is well!
Thanks FF. I already had our New Years flights booked........but so far its not looking good for Vegas NYE.
We stayed at Caesars this year, and somehow got invited to their NYE party, which was top notch.
So, If they think I'm settling for I.P. ? I don't think so Tim.

As long as weather holds out, we can do Reno instead for NYE. Either way......
Speaking of which......tomorrow afternoon, our first Comp JET flight to Reno.
One of those little jets. I'm pretty excited & thankful the weather should be good.
At least "someplace" treats us like high rollers! lol
