As noted in my recent post under CET, I played a LOT this past trip, a fair amount with my own initial bankroll and also churning quite a bit as I got couple of royals, Aces with kickers, 4OAKs with multipliers (DOUBLE STP is my game) etc. (Yes, I know once I got those wins I could have kept it all and just hung out by the pool for the rest of my trip but that wouldn't have been as much fun. ) When I returned home I realized I should have contacted the host who gave me her card (she's the one who arranged for the nice room at Bally's) as I think I might have even been eligible to get my airfare back or some other perk (I flew using FF tickets) as the room was great but I had no room charges to comp off, etc.
Anyway, my bankroll at the end of the year (7 day trip between Christmas and New Years) will be smaller but I'll be saving up and it'll be decent, for me. Because of my August play and a recent trip to AC (similar luck as above), my offers are increasing exponentially. I suspect I will get good offers to stay at a comped room at Bally's, possibly even Caesars, through New Years and would be happy with that though I might not get 7 nights straight during that time, so that's why I am thinking about contacting a host but I have a couple of questions and concerns.
First, is she going to expect similar play to my August trip or is less play okay with whatever she does for me being viewed partially as a recognition for my play in August? I do NOT want to be worried about whether I am playing "enough" as that would take enjoyment out of the trip but I won't be stiffing CET either. I basically want to maximize comps and think a host in this case might make a difference but I'm not sure.
Second, if I do decide to contact a host should I wait until say mid-November to see what offers I would get on my own anyway so that I could go to her and have her book the offers and supplement them (by say adding 2-3 days on the front end of the trip) or should I reach out sooner to her given that the end of the year is a busy time?
Lastly, years ago I actually got a comped room at Caesars and two comped tickets to Celine Dion for NYE. It included a party and fabulous gift. (This was when Caesars was part of Caesars Entertainment BEFORE it became part of HET, which is now called CET. LOL.) Would love that offer again but I've been an extremely low roller in the past few years, with the exception of this past trip. Was curious from CET players who play more -- or even players at MGM properties -- whether room comps, with comped tix, around NYE is something that casinos still do?
Thanks in advance for any comments on these questions or related issues.
Edited to add: I have a LOT of TR credits now (in part because of August and in part because of an AC multiplier), even before what I hope will be a $450 or $600 TR credits addition as a result of the Great Race rewards promotion, so if a room is super cheap on say Christmas evening and the day after, I wouldn't mind "paying" for those rooms up front, knowing the worst-case scenario that even if the rooms weren't comped off at the end I could just use points to cover the cost. I'd be willing to use as much as $150 of my points to do that as I love the idea of staying in once place again for seven straight days, particularly during the winter when it DOES get cold in LV!
