This month's promo is the somewhat wackadoodle "must hit" recurring $10,000-$25,000 progressive. The kicker is that when it hits, everyone playing a machine gets $25. That's where the value actually is.
There's also a recurring $1000-$2500 progressive, with no bonus for the masses when it hits.
What's the value of this? Impossible to say. However, given that you can easily achieve breakeven just by playing NSUD (99.73%) plus the 0.3% slot club, whatever it's worth is gravy.
A major factor, difficult to quantify, is just how often the larger progressive hits. I've heard in the past that it hits as seldom as once a week. That's kinda hard to believe, though, given that they advertise it as a "$650,000" promo and even if it hit at the max with 1,000 people playing, that would still only be $50,000 going out. More info is needed.
I'm sure that as the progressive approaches $25,000, the local lowlifes, er, skilled advantage players will be frantically texting each other back and forth. Various denizens who have been sleeping in storm drains will show up to play one nickel at a time and get that sweet $25.
It's seemed in the past that when I try to quantify the value of a South Point promo, it winds up being between 0.3% and 0.4%--effectively doubling the slot club return. I suspect that might be the case here. Positive expectation! Live it up! Honey, can you go over and stand in the buffet line while I play?
