Stations Casinos new way to screw you over

So Stations has implemented a new policy for senior days.  Its now for LOCALS ONLY.  If you are from out of state you are now screwed.  No more 10x point Thursdays or half price dining Wed.  Players club and my host stated new policy to cut back.  It really is for locals only as they don't want out of state business.  Bye Stations.

Stations Casinos are in the Vegas strip mode of gouging wherever they can. Same blueprint as the Strip - (1) removal of almost all good video poker, (2) high table game limits, (3) fewer comps, (4) higher food and drink prices, with no buffets. This is the new Vegas norm as Vegas "educates" the younger generation as to what expect when they come to Vegas - and the younger generation seems to not mind footing the bill. They also know that they will lose their locals if they mess with their perceived benefits.

Unfortunately, this isn't new. They had started to do this at some of their properties before the pandemic hit. They were immediately preceded by Boyd. It seems obvious to me that Boyd and Stations are in cahoots, not in actual competition, as all of the things the two companies have downgraded have been done in tandem.

The next move is going to be that even for locals, you have to have played some substantial amount in Week 1 in order to get any benefits in Week 2. I've seen this starting to crop up at several locations.

Right now, the only Vegas company that's getting my business is Golden Entertainment, which operates both Arizona Charlies and the Strat. They're holding the line as far as promotions go and regularly send me room and food offers.

we have not been getting the multipiers on sundays, but have been getting them on thursdays as recently as March 31st.  This last year it has said Locals and invited guests.  Did it change in April ?

Their website is saying that a player needs to have a Nevada ID to get the 10x points on Thursday and 1/2 point dining on Wednesday. Our host at Palace Station said she was unaware of the ID requirement but it appears that will be the case. If any nonlocal is at a station property to play on a Thursday, it certainly won't hurt to swipe at the kiosk and see what happens. We're going to Palace Station on a Sunday and Monday for my wife's birthday so I won't be able to test the locals only restriction. We'll probably stop going to Stations properties if that is their policy. It would depend on what our host can do with comps to offset the loss of the My Generation promotion. That'll be a discussion we have when we go.

I was at Palace all last week and tried to swipe at kiosk on Thurs for point multiplier.  No go.  Went to players club where Mgr. informed me of new rules.  My host also verified this and stated he was being handcuffed on out of state comps.  I asked him for some scissors and cut my President card up and handed it to him.  He stated that I was not the only one doing this.  Fuck stations!!!!!!

David - I feel the same way about Stations and also about Boyd. But I have decided to retain my cards and to avail myself of the comps I have acquired, such as the points I have in each account that I can use for food, hotel and retail. At Boyd's I only play on Tuesdays (10x points day), and the 100% VP at Stations. I believe that the current policies at both properties will revert back (somewhat) to how they were before both of these chains lost their ever loving bean counter minds. If they don't, I will use up all of my points and will move on - there are plenty of other casinos who appreciate my business and I will frequent them.

David & David,

Thanks for the info. We'll be cashing out our points and say goodbye to Stations. As Kevin noted, True Rewards at Aquarius and Az Charlies Decatur is the best slot club for us. We have a much greater number of points with True Rewards anyway since Aquarius is only 30 minutes away. Since Boyd didn't seem to suffer after trashing their slot club, I won't be holding my breath for Stations to fare badly with this shot to the gut of out state seniors.

The casinos I now frequent are - South Point, El Cortez, the 4 Queens, and Tuscany. They all send to me great offers and I enjoy their video poker. I am going to add Arizona Charlies starting on my next visit.

We are considering taking a mailer offer for free room at stations and taking our play to Southpoint. We were established there several years ago, but went to other casinos. Now it seems to be the best the Las Vegas area has to offer. It's a bit of a run from Palace or Red Rock, but hopefully one nights play will be enough to get a free room offer. We just won't take advantage of our host at Palace to do that. She's been a really great host.
