staying at multiple properties on same trip

Has anyone booked 2 separate reservations at different properties for the same time period?

Here is my dilemma..

I am coming in Feb for a company convention, which also happens to be my 30th birthday week. I have to book a room at an MGM property to receive special incentive money and I would need to pay for the room, then get a nice incentive check for being a registered guest at the hotel.(I also have a $75 room credit with the reservation at MGM property. My wife will be coming with me during the trip and we want to book a 100% comped stay at a CET property for 5 days.

Question, has anyone ever done this and had a problem with being questioned by the hotel about this and do you just put a do not disturb sign on the door to keep housekeeping off your back?

We really want to double dip with the incentive money, resort credit, and keep the comped room at PH.

Thoughts?
I do exactly what you describe on occasion and have never had a problem.

If it bothers you, call housekeeping after checking in and tell them it will not be necessary to clean your room while you are there. Then pull the sheets off the bed and throw a couple of towels on the floor to make it look like you were there.
We always book a complete comped stay usually in a CET room but then spend a night or two off the strip maybe at South Point or downtown just for a change of pace. For example we will be at Bally's Jan 29 to Feb 3 but we will spend one night (Jan 31st) downtown at the California so as to be able to hand around down there, drink, and not have to worry about driving back to Bally's. It is not housekeeping's business if you spend the night in your room or not. I am guessing a lot of people stay out all night while in Vegas or end up sleeping in another person's bed. If you are concerned just hang the do not disturb sign out. Do not stay gone to many days without at least returning to the room however which should not be difficult since PH is very close to MGM.
I do it all the time!! Go for it!! If you are at one place and begin to tie 1 on, or get tired, then you have an option of staying. Last October I had booked comps at both Orleans and Red Rock for 2 of the same days. Orleans always offers some food and free slot play as an incentive (ditto Gold Coast). 1 night the Paigow at Orleans was hot. I couldn't miss. Next thing I know it's 2 a.m. I don't drink but I didn't feel like driving back to RR. And..I didn't have to!!

Ditto with Sunset Station and Paris in August. Stations always throw in a couple of free buffets/slot play and their VP is better. On the other hand my girl loves the strip, especially Paris. Sooooo wrinkle the sheets at Sunset, put the "Do not disturb button" on the door and have at it. I make sure to give both place enough action to make sure that I keep getting the comped rooms though!!

Im heading to Vegas for March Madness 3/22-31. Already have comped rooms at the Orleans 3/22-24, Flamingo 3/24-29th and MSS 3/29 - 4/1 (leaving late 3/31 but this allows me to keep my stuff in the room until departure time). I also double booked the Gold Coast from 3/29-31st. Boyd doesn't care about multiple bookings ( Stations may) at different properties at the same time. Undoubtly my Station offers for March will come online sometime in Feb (they are so slow with that stuff). At that point I'll be sure to mix in a station offer, or 2, which would over lap 1 or more of my already booked stays. or may cancel 1 and just keep the other. Depends on what I plan on doing, and when, while in Vegas.

Also If I have never stayed at a hotel then I'm curious as to what their rooms look like. For Instance I booked SUNCOAST in August (while I still had 2 days left at Paris). Checked out the room at Suncoast and then went to play thier full pay 9/7 Triple Double Bonus for a couple of hours. Eventually headed back to Paris.

As it get closer to departure you can always cancel if you have too much on your plate. 1 disadvantage ( for some of us) is the amount they hold on your rooms for comp rooms. GVR/RR holdlike 100 a day.

You might want to leave a small bag of something, perhaps incidentals just in case, in the MGM room so it looks occupied. If you have to be at the MGM property for work related stuff and it gets kind of late, you might find yourself using the room. To answer your question, yes, I have done this. Booked 2 nights at GVR with an overlapping night at Bally's. Needed to book Bally's tp take advantage of an offer. I ended up sleeping at Bally's that night and drove back to GVR early in the morning.
We started doing this a couple of years ago. We primarily stay at a CET property on the strip and book a couple of nights in the middle of the trip downtown. For our next trip we are staying at the Rio (Sunday-Friday) and have two nights (Tuesday& Wednesday) comped at Cosmo.
The first time we did this we stayed on the strip and had two nights at Gold Coast as well as the same two nights at Orleans (all comped). When we checked on room at Gold Coast the room wasn't ready for another hour and they asked if Bell Desk had our luggage (we hadn't taken any). We stopped by the gift shop and got a bottle of vodka so we had a brown bag for luggage when we checked back to get our room key.
Have done it many times. Leave the DO NOT DISTURB sign so that housekeeping stays out. No problem at all.

We used to mess up the bed, but decided that meant work for the maid. We might do a towel or two, maybe move a pillow.
I've had up to 5 rooms in Vegas for the same time. The policy of making you check in is stupid! But that's the game...
If you actually don't mind walking to the room, leave a few things there..
I agree with Champster sounds like a back up plan is a good thing.

I am sure some people come to Vegas and actually don't SLEEP..
The housekeeping department would love to save work... by only having to quickly check the room.

Possibly a small tip could be left especially if you are getting reimbursed for travel expenses etc.
