&$@#&$ the Strip--go to Emerald Island/Rainbow

All this month: 1000 points ($1000 coin-in) gets you $10 free play; first half of the month, EI, second half of the month, Rainbow. Good every day except Sunday at Rainbow and Tuesday at EI--because on those days, it only takes 700 points to get $10, and you can do that twice in the same day.

Both places have 100% payback VP (and a bunch of games over 99.5%) at denoms from .01 to $3 a hand. Not to mention several daily big point multipliers, all sorts of great food specials, free stuff just for having a pulse, etc.

I'm kind of a broken record about these places, but with the rest of Vegas going Gouge City, they seem more attractive every day.

You're right on the Gouge City. We visit Vegas 3 or 4 times a year and spend probably half our time at the Rainbow and Emerald Isle casinos. Always go to South Point too.

Do you ever get freeplay or other targeted offers? They send their giant flyer every month, but I don't see any play-based offers.

Generally, no, but I don't really need it, since it's so easy to earn free play during their promo periods. If you earn points, you can't convert them into free play.

I think that is all they do by and large but that said, it is still WAY better and packs the two small joints it seems like damn near every day.  What a crazy concept huh?  Give the customers a chance, have a lot of fun and they still can make profits and draw people into downtown Henderson and away from the glitz of Las Vegas.

Kevin was the one that tipped me onto them.  I too, probably spend half of my LV trips there now too.  I don't care if I'm playing 2c, 5c or 25c if I'm having fun and I get the chance to play multi line.

We were getting free meal coupons in our mailer.  A different one for each week of the month.  But lately that has been hit and miss since the new ownership.

In the past that is what I would get.  Weekly food offers that I rarely can use since I live so far away from Vegas. I still love the place.  Wish it had a hotel!

So do I...it would be effortless to earn free nights by playing breakeven VP during multiple point times. They do have a local merchant program where you can redeem points for things like haircuts and doggy washes. I'm hoping that someday, they hook up with one of those little hotels in downtown Henderson.

My mailers have also been sometimes yes, sometimes no on the free food. Used to be one free meal a week. Doesn't bother me, though, since I get three $15 comps and two half-off coupons per week anyway. I hope they keep all that intact; they've scaled back the benefits the lowest tier gets.

I will be flying in 7/14 early and taking the bus over to Henderson.  Will use LVA the coupons at both joints.  No brainer.  Great place.

I was in Henderson last week.  Just noticed a new hotel within view from Rainbow and Emerald.  Atwell Suites Henderson at the Pass.  Looks brand new and could provide a great option for staying near the Water Street properties!
