One of my offers is a free cruise for 2 on NCL if I stay Labor Day weekend. My brother-in-law says taxes and fees total over $600.00. Has anyone else taken a similar offer and gone on the cruise? Are the fees that much?
Lots of folks have gotten free cruise offers, including us. Almost all require you pay port fees and taxes. My experience has been closer to $500, but YMMV. And of course you still have the $12 per person per day service charge. check out cruisecritic.com for more info. Search on CASINO.
The 2 "free" cruises for 2 I have gotten from casinos were 7 day NCL Caribbean cruises and I paid around $500 both times for port fees and taxes. When shopping for the same cruises, websites like cruise.com show the fare as $898 for 2 and the taxes as $190 for 2 so I haven't been able to figure out what that extra $310 is for.
Our "free" cruise on NCL (inside cabin) has a total of fees totaling over $724 ($350 port charges, $374 in taxes/fees). That's for two of us. Still better than the regular price of $2272 though for the cruise for the two of us.
