They don't like to give out that information. Comps are obviously based on play, but maybe win/loss too. I'd guess he was saying they use both and not to expect much. Did you ask?
If you're playing machines, your rating is based on how much money you risk (coin-in), how long you play, and your average daily theoretical loss (determined by what kind of machine you're playing). Higher risk machines give you a higher theo. Makes no difference whether you win or lose -- it's how much risk you take that counts.
Some casinos (I know that Plaza and Las Vegas Club have done this) take into consideration whether you have won or lost as to what they may offer you in terms of rooms or other comps.
At LVH early this week, I was dealt four deuces while playing "loose deuces." It paid $625. I held all cards, and then pulled my players card out. I then hit the draw button. I have always wondered whether this accomplishes anything or not, I really don't know, and maybe nobody else does either, but if winning or losing really does affect comps, I have a slim hope that I have beaten the system.
Don't hold your breath. I often play with my wife's card to build her status and last year I had it in when I hit KAces. Pulled it out before the attendant arrived and he came back with a W-2G in her name (had to get him to correct it). Noted on the win/loss report she had a $2k jackpot (which she didn't).

Yep, the South Point is notorius for doing this. Hit a big W-2G and your mailer drops drastically or even stops for a few months.
The only difference between mine and captain bill's is that I actually pulled my card out before I completed the hand. There was obviously no attendant involved, as it was only $625, and my hope was that since I was DEALT the four aces, and pulled my card before I actually won the $625, that maybe I was fooling the system. My hope is that my hit was recognized in their system as being made by a non-carded player.
Don, you just answered a long standing question I've had with SP. Last year I had my wife get a new card while she was at the Glass Show and I put almost 10k on it that day playing $'s in about 5 hours of play. I also won a 2K jackpot (of course I had them change it to my card for the W-2g). Never could figure out why she didn't get any offers...you have answered that question...thanks.
