Wynn getting generous with room comps

I popped in for the Wynn buffet last trip and probably dumped $80 into their machines.  I'm  now getting offers for 3 free room nights and $150 food voucher.    And I'm hearing similar stories from others.

Those are some pretty nice rooms for such a small amount of play.

That would be worth it if that were true. Did you play slots or VP?

I used to do that sort of thing many moons ago on the Strip, back when they still had decent games. For instance, a couple of hours of ten-play .10 9/6 DDB (98.8%) at New York New York got me $500 free play every month for six months. That was ridiculous.

You're not the only person I've heard of who's gotten disproportionate comps from some modest play. I think you're more likely to see that now when the casino isn't one of those megablob corporate places like a CET or MGM property. Wynn might be actively courting players to counteract recent negative publicity.

Definitely go there and take advantage. Have the buffet three times. Be sure to stiff them on play--there's no chance you'll be rewarded as lavishly next time. They're just testing to see if you're a standard sucker, and if not, well, the rooms and food didn't cost them all that much.

Uh, with all due respect to Kevin's point of view, PJ I would take that offer and play at least as much as you did the first time.  Wynn is a different animal.  They are goofy with offers, especially new players.  You may be stuck in 3 night/$150 food hell (kidding) for the rest of your Wynn gambling life, or it could improve (including some Free Play) but only if you give them some play.  Be sure your three nights are Sun-Thursday and comped, or elsewise shown as weekend nights which qualify.

I like Wynn.

Well, I'll be very interested in how they treat PJ the second time around. A mid-Strip room is a nice thing to have, even if it's non-weekend. And $150 in food comps is also nice, even if that only gets you a doughnut (no sprinkles) and a cup of coffee (small).

I remember the boofay as being very, very good, but that was ten years ago. It's certainly priced like it's still very, very good.

UNfortunately I'm not going back till next Thanksgiving...hopefully they keep sending that offer.   I do think they are being aggressive right now.  I belong to a Facebook group where others have reported similar offers with similar play at the Wynn

I haven't stayed or played at Wynn in quite a few years, but I do still get offers from them. Usually a buy 2 nights get one free with $200 freeplay and sometimes buffets thrown in. I'm always tempted, but then I have to factor in paying their resort fee plus 2 mights room fees vs a free room elsewhere.

To me it's a balance of do I want to stay at a nicer place (Wynn is one of my favorites) but deal with the strip crowds more or stay at a local place and not be bothered with the crowds and the advantage of being able to get in and out of the place quicker when I want to leave? Plus I can always use the money for food/shopping during my trip. I might be tempted to stop by and play for a bit this weekend when I'm there to see if my offers get bumped up again since i have more trips planned for this year.

In my experience it is likely you will continue to receive that offer or possibly stronger ones (a little Free Play?)  Sometimes they try you with a free slot tourney combined with some free nights, which would be better than nada if you just would enjoy staying there.  You don't even have to show up for the slot tournament, which are one rounders (unless you score high) and no goodies with them.  Just a moment's distraction.  Never have scored high enough to play another round.

PJ....very interesting. Are you open to answering the question above regarding whether you were playing slots or VP?

Hi Matt -yes, it was definitely just a slot machine.    Exactly one machine....and I think I burned exactly $80

In 2018, out of the blue Wynn sent me an offer for 3 free nights, 2 buffet coupons and $300 comp play.  We stayed (they put us in the Encore), ate, played the comps, and hit a $5k progressive.  Since then they only send $139 room offers with 2 free buffets.  :(.  Was a great trip to the strip, I usually play downtown.
