I'm not a drinker, so I guess I don't understand...why not just order two of the same drink?
If you're at the bar in a Vegas casino, and the smiling young lady sitting nearby discusses having a "double" with you, does that mean she's bringing a friend or you get an encore engagement with her immediately after the first one?
If you order a double vodka and seven, do you get a vodka and fourteen?
So many questions.
If you order a "double", they are supposed to put double the amount of the liquor, e.g. Jack Daniels, in the one cocktail. Same glass, two shots of the liquor. same amount of mixer that you'd get with one drink.
Me, I don't think there is such a thing as a double gin&tonic...ick. Or a double lemon drop martini. So I also don't fully understand the "double" thing other than often you don't get double the liquor though you are charged double! You can't tell by looking when they bring it.
