Bacon Nation at The D

Overall- average for breakfast. In a town where breakfast potatoes can cover 1/3 to 1/2 of the plate at most places- they are an extra charge here.

They have a "downtowner" special 7-9 am. 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 1 sausage and one piece of toast. They have a double that does double the eggs & meat- but not the toast. Only one piece of toats is alos strange in this town.

The food is average/good. Not many ways to mess that up.

Of interest to some. They hang their name on flavored thick cut bacon-but serve only normal thin-cut with the meals. It is clearly noted on the menu

Thanks for the review Roger.  We have been there and waved it off twice because we were past the good breakfast prices and there was a long line and what seemed like questionable service

Thanks for information.Unfortunately we don't get up early.

I usually get the $9.99 breakfast special which I pay for with the D food comps.  I find that it is satisfactory but nothing to rave about. However it is free, and the servers are very nice.

That must be new, the one and only time I went there I think everything was north of $20.

I think that breakfast special ends at 8 or 9 am, and then everything is pricey after that.

Funny how they think they can turn bacon, one of the simplest and most abundant meats, into some kind of exclusive goomay commodity. There's a restaurant in Tucson called "Oink" that tries the same thing. $8 for two strips of "specialty" bacon.

The special has been running for at least 2 years, 7-9am, 7 days a week.
