Been going to Las Vegas for almost 30 years, still haven't been there, recommend? No? How is the house wine? I'm not a wine snob so as long as it's not 3 buck Chuck I'll be ok lol

I'd hesitate to give a recommendation based on an experience from 10+ years ago, but I did enjoy it then. I would say, if the place is still around (especially given recent developments), it must still be pretty good.
The house wine/table wine in Italian restaurants is usually pretty good. In Italian culture, wine is a necessity, not a luxury.
Definitely worth it. It's an experience! Good solid Italian fare, not gourmet or fancy by any means. Nice casual relaxed atmosphere. Can't speak for the white wine, but the free house red isn't bad. It's jug wine, they do have other wines for purchase and a full bar. The free "Cappuccino". Is more akin to hot chocolate. You'll be glad you went, at least once.

I've never eaten there because I've heard good reviews and some people say that it's more of a tourist attraction than a restaurant that is a must do every trip. We like Pasta Mia West , if you've eaten there how do they compare.
Never been to Pasta Mia, but looking at their website I'd say Apples and Oranges. Nobody ever called Batistas the best Italian food in Vegas. It's also not a Tourist Trap . It is an old school Vegas experience! You may not like it? You'll never know if you don't go once!
I always heard that the draw for Battista's is the ambiance. Food OK, atmosphere is the thing. But I've not eaten there either. Let us know how you find it, David.

Good to know all, thanks for the advice. Bit of a mixed bag but mostly positive, just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be an overwhelming "hell no" LOL. I will hope to be there in October with another couple, if it doesn't happen then, I'll make sure to get there in March during NASCAR!
I almost got there during Memorial Day weekend, I got to the end of the Cromwell and there were a bunch (maybe 10) of pretty scary looking guys hanging out. They kept approaching people that were walking by, preobably offering drugs or panhandling. I turned around and ate ala cart at a couple of the Linq promanade stores.

Maybe CES week I will have better luck.
