Best Downtown Steakhouse

Looking for the best downtown steakhouse, taking into account the MRB coupon at Binion's.

I really like Binions.The steak is so big you can share.Plus no extras for side dishes.They are included.I haven't found better.Haven't tried Hugo's yet.

Even without the coupon, Binion's is the best IMHO. Plus, you buy a full dinner, not a la carte. And you have the best view downtown. Next would be Oscar's at the Plaza.

I was at Binions this past Sunday night celebrating my nephew's birthday. Of course we used the LVA coupon saving us $100. Good food and service. Overall a very good evening and a great value.

I tried two downtown. Adiamos at The D was really good. Triple George was okay. 

Triple George pulled a bit of a bait and switch. I came in knowing what I wanted after reading the menu on their website. Turns out they had changed their menu and never bothered updating the website. The dry aged prime steak was no longer available. 

 I was able to combine the LVA coupon with a dining credit that came with my room stay at the Grand so the meal ended up being super cheap.

Good to hear so many agree with Binions.

Binions had excellent food and even better service.  

I see that there is a Binions steak house coupon in the LVA book. I might give it a try despite other factors that I usually take into consideration, just to say that I have eaten there, and how it was...

I decided to take myself the time and study all the coupons that are available. As far as I see it, any comp that a gambler gets is worth much more than a coupon if you go and eat anyways. For people strictly using the coupons without giving much casino action in return, to them of course the coupons are gold. In fact, the coupon is about what you save for the tip, which at least, is more than just something in a steak house.

As for me,  I have a lot of comp credits at some of the casinos where I gamble and that's why I think eating there makes  most sense. Rather than checking out other restaurants at other casinos unless there is an additional coupon for a few rounds of free play slot or a match play coupon that I will play anyways.

That said, the Binions coupon has additional utility in that it can be used for the entire bill, even with a large party. So its value could easily be well over $100.

I always look at comps this way. The standard casino formula has been to comp players at 20% of their theoretical losses. So in order to get a $25 meal comp, I have to lose $125 (though obviously, my actual results for any one session/trip will vary). Suddenly, comps seem less attractive to me.

That's why I like the LVA coupons. You get the value with little (matchplays and such) or no (free play) investment.

To return to my previous calculation, let's say I bring myself and three friends to Binions. We each spend $100, and I present the coupon. We collectively save $100. To realize an equivalent savings via comps, I'd have to lose $500. I prefer the coupon!

Just for those who might be confused, I consider a theoretical loss to be an actual loss, even though a given bet or session may produce a positive result. I bet $100 on red or even, I've just turned my $100 into $94.66, before the wheel is spun and regardless of the result.
