Bill's Burger, Fries, and shake deal question - Is the shake a milkshake?

Okay - this might sound silly, but here it is. I'm a bit lactose intolerant and can't handle high amounts of milk fat. So the question is - is this shake a true Milk shake (i.e. made with ice cream) or more like a mcdonalds or burgerking milkshake (made with gelatin)? Anyone know?
I can't answer your question, but have you tried Lactaid? I went through a period of lactose intolerance and used to carry it with me and take it before eating any dairy. It worked very well.
No, I have not. It only bothers me if I eat a large amount of milkfat such as a big bowl of icecream (or a big glass of it). I could drink skim milk until the cows came home and not have a problem.
Hi - Our group had this Bill's special last week. I must say the shake was delicious (and just the right size). I will admit that we had 2 coupons - so went twice for lunch - had the chocolate and vanilla shakes. Luckily we do a lot of walking and very little snacking!

It was so good that I am sure it must be made with a real milk product - regular, skim, powdered etc. The burger and fries were good too. Service was quick - it appears they are doing a lot of business on this deal. You could also pose the question at the hostess desk.

You can try a free sample of Lactaid from an offer on their website:

Was it very smooth and consistent or was it lumpy or icy?
The shake was very smooth - not lumpy at all.
That would tend to say it was gelatin based...

Where I'm from (Massachusetts) a "true milk shake" is made sans ice cream.

If it has ice cream, then it's called a frappe.
