buffet all day pass - excalibur / luxor

I thought to save a few $ I might try the all day pass buffet at the Excalibur/luxor - how does this work - is it a 24 hour pass or can you only use it on the day you buy it.

I was thinking - could you say have dinner at 8 pm on the first night and then maybe breakfast and then dinner at 7pm the following night as long as in 24 hours??

Only really intend to do this once as there are too many fantastic food options out there , but happy to save a few $$ now and then

Thanks for all and any advice
According to the description from the promos for the Luxor webpage, it's an all-day all-you-can-eat pass for Excalibur and Luxor buffets. Last i checked these were not amongst the highest rated buffets in the city. I don't know how much this goes for by itself but unless it's really cheap (say, under $25) I would think it's a much better deal to get the Harrah's/Ceasars buffet pass even if it costs $50. Better food, more options (7 buffets instead of 2) and supposedly good for 24 hours as opposed to just 1 day.
Agreed with catzin....u are definitly going to waiting awhile for any real good feedback from folks who have..."sampled" the buffets at Luxor and the Excalibur! I nearly had the Luxor buffet 4 years ago. I was standing in line with a 20 comp. ASn emploiyee of the Luxor was leaving work ( i presume at the buffet). I asked him just jokingly..."how was the buffet". He gave me the motion with his finger going in his mouth! At that point I got out of line and went to thier Deli!!

Similar reports on these boards would echo this employees description. And from what I've read Luxors buffet is better than Excaliburs. But hey food is food. If you are traveling alone and just are dying to eat their buffets...then go for it!

Like catzin said... you can spend $32.00 buck for 2 buffets (in 1 day) or $45.00 for 7 buffets and eat for 24 hours! If you do the CET 24 hour buffet then I would suggest starting with dinner at the Spice market at Planet Hollywood @ around 7:30 p.m (great Crab legs 7 days a week)...then breakfast at La Village Buffet at Paris (crepes made to order) ...then lunch at (the largest of the C.E.T. buffets) the Carnival World buffet and then by 7 p.m. plung into Flavors at Harrahs for some BBQ and mimosa's!!! Just a suggestion!!
Even though the CET buffets have gone downhill in past few years they are still better the one at Excalibur. We have free breakfast buffets there a couple years ago and while it wasn't bad, it was great. Not much of a selection and just very average food.

Have noticed that some of the MGM/Mirage hotels are also doing this deal. Mandalay for $43/day and Monte Carlo for $32 or $40 depending on day of the week (weekends higher). Of course these are middle range or below to start with, and considering the prices, no real threat to the Harrah's promotion.

I'm thinking this would be a good play for some of the Boyd hotels, to maybe combine the offerings of Fremont/MSS or Gold Coast/Orleans, tossing Sam's Town into the mix for both. Especially considering that boyd has better buffets and beter prices than most of the MGM offerings.

Thats not a bad idea cats!! I'd take the Main Street buffet over any MGM offering!! Put it in the BOYD suggestion box before August!
Well isn't Bellagio part of MGM/Mirage group? Can't say I'd pass them over for MSS
I haven't been to the Bellagio buffet but their dinner buffet better be nearly 3 times better than the 1 at the Main Street Station.

The price sure is...................

Bellagio Buffet Dinner $29.95...... Main Street Station Buffet Dinner $11.95

1 can only imagine what the price difference would be in a MGM buffet pass that included the Bellagio vs a Boyd that would include MSS.

I certainly wouldn't. Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, MGM are all far superior to MSS buffet - but for a reasonable meal at a reasonable price - yes - MSS.
Excalibur? Circus Circus? Forget it.

I've been unimpressed with the Mandalay Bay buffet experience and MGM is somewhat overpriced imho.

Best cost-per-quality among the Strip supebuffets? Easily Mirage.
