Burger wars

This is somewhat like asking everybody's opinion on their favorite classic car, or Vegas casino, or Vegas entertainment..quite subjective. My list is somewhat influenced by value ( cost vs return, etc.) in addition to enjoying the grease, toppings, and cheese. What's the average price for a burger in Vegas these days, $18 -20 ? Who knows? Does price / value matter? Value is measured in different ways by different beholders, you say?

Sorry folks, I'm defending In - N - Out for burger value in Las Vegas..double double animal style version. It's still under $10, and tastes great to me after a long , beer-imbibing gambling session. The place doesn't remind me of cookie cutter chain burgers, even though it's a chain. Plus, the pigeons outside really seem to enjoy the very mediocre In - N - Out fries I share with them.

Back home, we visit Blake's, Whataburger, and Five Guys..with an alternating approach sometimes based on how long / short the drive-through line is. I'll second the value of green chile on burgers..adds some tasty zip. And Five Guys fries top our choice list.

One thing I'll comment on regarding Blake's. Their ordering system of late( the call-ahead method) has really gone to the dogs here locally..we've had several screwed up orders with some consistency. I'm not sure what the reasons are, but even the mistaken orders were  edible. I know..we should've confirmed the order at pick-up. Who does that? *l*

One thing I really admire about In-N-Out is that their employees all seem really motivated, hard-working, and happy. This could be due to their radically innovative move of paying them more than minimum shit wage (gasp--socialism!). You pay people more than the bare minimum the law allows, and that sends the message that they're valued--and for moi the customer, that means that I don't feel like I'm interacting with a grumpy zombie every time I order a meal, which is how it often seems at McJackKingQueenBurger.

Just what does the motivation of and the pay that employees receive have to do with the topic of this post concerning the opinions people have about their personal choice for burgers?

He can't help himself David

Because how the employees are treated in a given establishment influences my decision on whether to patronize that establishment. That's MY, as you say, "personal choice." Maybe that doesn't matter to you, but you're not the only person in the world. So if I want to offer my opinion, I'll do so with or without your approval.

Jerry: Personal attacks violate the rules of the forum.

David's post was a snide personal attack of its own.

Obey the rules for a change.

The topic was about where people thought the best burgers were found. Your diatribe had nothing to do with the original topic which you chose use as a platform for ranting about what people were getting paid. You highjacked a simple discussion and turned it into a contentious situation.

"Contentious"? Was I arguing with anybody? (That's what "contentious" means, something you may not have known, given your misuse of the word.)

Please don't try to pretend that your response was anything but a continuation of your habit of taking your animosity towards me outside the Sink. You've made dozens of gratuitous posts criticizing or contradicting what I've said in these threads. That's been your only purpose. Of course, you'll never admit it.

Now take your hard-on for me back to the Sink where it belongs.

Definition of 'contentious' ; always ready to argue; quarrelsome · of or marked by contention · provoking or likely to provoke controversy
