We haven't been to the California coffee shop for years and I'm wonder whether they still have the prime rib dinner special. If so, is it every evening and what is the price these days?
Yes, it was still there in July. Not bad for the price. Seven days a week, after 4 p.m. I think the cost was $7.95 but I might be slightly off on the price.
I try to do the prime rib special a couple times a year and have always found the meal to be quite satisfactory and a terrific value. The Cal does a nice piece of med-rare, the sides (baker, beans, cherry jubilee) are fine and the salad bar is still the good old-fashioned type with things like broccoli/raisin/bacon salad.
Yes still there in November. We always go there for a cheap fun meal. Their Asian menu must be good as I see a lot of people at the counter slurping up noodles. The prime rib went up a buck or two but good for the money.
It is a nice coffee shop; the Hawaiian stuff is always very good and a nice change of pace for us Floridians. I've had the prime rib special once; it was good, but I think the beef is a little better at Magnolia's (Four Queens).
