CE/HET Buffet reviews from The Kid last week......

My BIG Kid was in Vegas last week with his GF. He used the MRB & hit many CE buffet bogo's.

Rio buffet
Paris Buffet
Caesars Lago buffet
I.P. buffet.

Of the 4, he liked Rio best, followed closely by Caesars.

Of the 4, he said the Service at IP was the BEST & Friendliest staff & servers.

Of the 4, he said Paris had the Worst service. (and Not relating to this restaurant thread, had
a bad exp. with Paris bell desk employee....I told him to write Mgt. about that employee.)

They did Not do the 24 hr. buffet. They were there 4 days, and felt the bogos worked out best.
Thats their story, in a nutshell.

Feel free to add your recent experiences too. Thanks.
Champ- the kids thought this was a better way, bogo's, than the 24 hr. pass.
(plus, they're only Tin, so would have to wait in the buffet lines anyway)
I have to give Paris a lot of credit. They have created a snooty pretentious environment that begins at the registration desk and is carefully executed by all staff from pit bosses to wait staff to makes visitors feel they are at the real deal. Genius, really.
Wow C. L. V.. I never thought that I'd see the I. P. beat Paris....in anything!!! Looks like all the stories of the Paris going downhill (i.e.buffet) have not been exagerated.

Visited the Paris buffet in December. Originally, this was a favorite, but had noticed the tide turning. Daughter wanted to eat there, so gave it this last shot for the bubbly brunch.

Original server went MIA after first visit to the table. Perhaps he was kidnapped - don't recall ever seeing him again.

We hailed a second server eventually as we were getting thirsty and dirty plates needed to find a new home. She was pretty frazzled, but helped us just the same even though we weren't designated as her table. Guess she needed to vent - she was a longtime employee who confirmed our impressions. Staff level had been cut to such a degree that it was nearly impossible for those on the job to offer anything close to reasonable service.

As such, tables sat empty with a line of potential diners stretching down the hall, and even then they couldn't keep up with the tables that were occupied. All a bi-product of a shift away from the corporate culture the place at one time embraced - as now customer service suffered at the expense of saving a buck by staff cuts.

She was sincere - and was saddened by what had happened to the place. We understood, and told her we appreciated her honesty. She took our dirty dishes, and skipped the part about filling our glasses - just gave us the bottle! Had PLENTY of bubbly then. So at least we got a nice little early afternoon buzz out of the deal!

Anyway - before we left, made sure I tracked her down for a cash tip as I wanted to make sure SHE got it. Hopefully they eventually paid the ransom so the other server could return to work at some point.

End of the day - dining experience in no way justifies the cost.
I ate at the Paris buffet twice last week, dinner and breakfast. both times the food was average but the service was very slow. plates not removed. Glasses not refilled and food on the buffet no refilled. it was ok with the coupon but not at full price.
I.P. has amazingly friendly staff that goes out of their way for you.
I had daily morning conversations w/ a black female guard who's been there for 20 years at my VP machine... not surprised at The Kid's view/opinion.

Paris has become a merde hole.. ..one can make due IF one is Diamond.

Remember the good Panko Schrimp at Harrah's DL>!? Yum/ Paris has wings and corn chips..bleech

Thanks for the update and his opinions~~ good intel/recon!
Went to Paris buffet a few Easters ago.

Underwhelmed. I had heard so much about this buffet and I suspect the buzz from years ago keeps them in line to this day. Extemely limited choice and average food. You're better off ordering pancakes from a cafe.

Last January, walked through Paris to get over to Cosmo to try their buffet. On the way back to the room in Bally's (where I had early had to fire evacuate) I wanted to tell all the people in line at Paris, "Hey!!! Walk across the street for a MUCH better buffet!!! Not worth it!"

As for IP being better than Paris -- in staff!
Yes but the Paris buffet that Easter had bo-koo easter jelly beans and malted milk eggs everywhere and I was dressed in my pink fuzzy Bunny ears so we had to go to replenish my baskets to give to the dealers and all my fans who spotted the easter bunny which was me in-noah-carnate
I was very happy we went. Always wanted to try. But still was underwhelmed, especially for the crepe. No nutella! That'a French crime.
