Cosmopolitan Buffet

I ate lunch there last Thursday, Jan. 13th. It's a little bit of a walk from the casino to get to their Wicked Spoon buffet, but it certainly is worth it. First of all the buffet seating area is beautiful; nice lighting, very nice tables and chairs, subtle background music, etc. There is a long table in one area (20 feet long) made of a beautiful wood finish. Two older gentlemen walked around the table for about five minutes admiring/raving about the workmanship that went into the table top finish. My server was very prompt and took my drink order with a cheerful smile.

FOOD: I'll give a 2nd thumbs up on the Korean style ribs..delicious. Everything is served in separate dishes, for individual portions. This must take a lot of extra work, but it pays off in the food presentation and quality. My salad was crisp with a very nice dressing. The mushrooms braised in red wine were very tasty. Their au gratin potatoes were the best that I have every had..wish I could get their recipe. They did have a roast beef carving station, but it wasn't prime rib. The desserts were very appealing to the eye(visual presentation) as well as to the palate. I ordered a cranberry juice to drink and it was a dark ruby red in color and had just the right amount of tartness....not the watered down crap I usually get at a restaurant.

They offer a smaller variety of foods than some of the bigger, more popular buffets, but the food that they do offer is first rate. They did have a lot of foods that I have never tried before, but I just did not have room to sample all that I wanted to. I really like their individual serving concept. I most certainly will be back during my Spring trip to try the dinner menu. I highly recommend this buffet.

Glasses can affect your vision; especially when they have been emptied several times.........
I enjoyed reading this review (and also loved the photos!!)...

Had the breakfast buffet on Monday morning.
Well worth it. Though, if you're looking for only traditional middle-America breakfast fare, you'll be disappointed.

For example, they had something like 10 different forms of eggs benedict. 3 different sausage choices including a smoked and a chicken and apple. Sticky buns (sort of) that were decadently sweet and yummy. Something I've never seen elsewhere: a ham and gruyere struddle (think ham and cheese croissant).

Another nice thing, they put a carafe of water on the table.

The Sunset breakfast buffet at $5 might be the better deal. But for the Strip, this was nice. Some BOGO coupons would make it a deal.

I will be critical of the servings in the individual pans. For the eggs dishes, this meant I had to remove the benedict from the pan so I could cut it. In the mean time, the bottom of the pan was picking up syrup and goo from the sticky buns which then goo'd up my table. I don't think this adds quality, but the individual pans might be beneficial in other ways. For example, it doesn't take someone a minutes or more to serve themself.
Carafe of water? At breakfast?

How about a Carafe of Coffee? NOW, you're Talkin!!! LOL
(they did this at SS, I was pleasantly surprised.....but they should have refilled it. 'Cat & I emptied it.) lol

Anyway, Thanks for the First hand exp. TB. Thats going on my EATS List, another time.
