Wow what a place.
Thanks, Westie.
This reminds me of something that either never came to fruition or suffered a quick demise: "Dinner in the Sky". Does anyone remember that? 10-20 years ago? The concept was similar to the tethered hot air balloon experience (which did suffer a quick demise when a storm, or something, destroyed it).
Diners (capacity 8-12?) would board this upscale eatery from the ground. The whole place would be elevated somehow to give diners a view as they ate and drank (and swayed in the wind?). Tuxedoed servers, linen table cloths and napkins, gourmet meal, cocktails, etc. I remember seriously considering checking it out. Then radio silence, no further word. Did I dream this up? I may send in a QOD on it.
Couple of obvious questions....
1) What do you do if you need to use the bathroom?
2) If you drop your fork, how do they stop it from falling into someone's forehead down below? ANd more importantly, how do you get another fork?

I have submitted it for a QoD. Hopefully will learn more about it if accepted.
I'm pretty sure it had a floor. Like a room on a forklift. Don't know if it had 'facilities.'
Candy,
Yes, I remember seeing ads for this in Showbiz and (uh - what was the other prominent weekly mag they put in hotel rooms back then?). I don't know if it ever "took off".
