Don't Hate John Curtas Yet? Want To?

Eating Las Vegas co-author and blogger John Curtas does not want you to like him. How else to explan pretty much everything he ever writes?

Today he goes after LVA's own David McKee, who's written an item for USAToday titled "10 best Las Vegas spots for foodies"

I like reading Curtas, he writes well, he definitely knows food far better than I do, and I appreciate his undeniable passion for the Vegas restaurant scene.

But man, he NEVER does ANYTHING to make readers think he's anything other than a miserable jerk.
I must admit I agree with Mr Chilcoot 100 percent on this. More often than not the bulk of the columns focus more on Mr Curtas and actual descriptions of the food many times are limited to a paragraph or two. He is a talented writer to be sure and he certainly displays more than a passing knowledge on the food scene but it seems, in a way to distinguish himself in the crowded field of "food critics", he has decided to be the "bad boy" of pack. It is one thing to review according to one's own taste but to hold others who don't share those same tastes in distain makes him entertaining at best. And this is a shame because on occasion, when he puts his mind to it, he has actually written some outstanding reviews.
I don't feel worthy of reading his column. He is obviously very gifted and must have thousands of more taste buds than the average humanoid. I however am at the other end of the spectrum with a limited palate. I hate to admit I've eaten at McDonald's, Burger King and even Roy Rogers! And I actually enjoy some buffets! He is a Foodie Phd., while I'm still working on my GED!
