Downtown sports bars

I have a group of 17 Purdue grads doing our 39th annual Vegas trip (we got out in the early 1980's, to give you a reference point), and we want to watch the Purdue vs Wisonsin game on October 23.  Yep, we'll likely get our asses kicked, but that's beside the point.

I want to put our group into a sports bar atmosphere vs a sports book...........we're staying at Golden Gate.

One of my issues is that I won't know what channel the game is on until 7-14 days ahead of the game, but it'll likely be on Big Ten Network.  Does anyone know what places get BTN?

Also, ignoring sports books and game channel, what are your favorite downtown sports bars for a group our size?

Thanks.

For a group that large, perhaps you can find a bar where you can get a private room to eat, drink & drink some more

You won't be able to set up a situation where you and your gang can watch the game exclusively. It'll be one of dozens of games on at the time, and probably not the big marquee match up of the day. So convincing any bar management to let you take over an area of an already small bar...not gonna happen.

HOWEVER, PT's Pubs have dozens of locations throughout the city, lots of sports viewing areas, great food, and a terrific atmosphere. They will definitely set aside a room for you and your gang...private viewing party, with abundant munchies and drinks.

You are in luck because there is a Purdue watch party club that meets at the Nevada Brew Works for all of their games.     It's just south downtown on Main St.   actually it's closer to the Stratosphere than the downtown hotels.     Good food and drink there...and lots of other good places to pub crawl nearby

Here's what I'm planning at this time.  If the game is on a network channel, then we'll watch it at Hennesey's on Fremont Street.  Hennesey's doesn't offer BTN.  The game will likely be covered by BTN, and if that's the case, Nevada Brew Works will be our place.  It gets the nod over PT since it's closer, and other Purdue fans will be there to mourn along with us.

Thanks guys!
