EATALY - THIS is $153.67???

Eataly lunch with receipts

Hello Vegas fans. I'm a frequent Vegas visitor, long-time LVA member and current Northern Nevada resident.

I just wanted to warn/rant about a lunch my husband and I ate at Eataly complex at Park MGM. Our trip was October 16, 2024, so a few months late in reporting, but I'm sure the prices still hold.

For those who have not seen it, Eataly is basically an Italian food court, with walk-up counters to order food, then grab a table in a common area to consume it. Nothing fancy AT ALL. NO SERVERS - AT ALL.

My husband and I wanted different items, so we went to different windows - hence the two receipts. (hope the link works.

My lunch: $63.94

Two side items; one order of plain fettuccini - just some butter and parmesan, and one side of meatballs - 3 of them. The portion of pasta was the size of a checkbook - tiny. The meatballs were barely cooked and poorly seasoned, with very watery marinara sauce. They stuffed a slice of bread in with the watery meatballs, which promptly soaked up all the liquid by the time I got to my table. This was barely enough to feed one person!

His lunch: $33

Provolone panini - ok. It was a basically a grilled cheese sandwich.

Drinks: $38

Two house red wines @ $19 each. NO PREMIUM brands.

Grand total: $134.94 for a lunch that was no better than Olive Garden. Price with tip was $153.67

We have never felt more ripped off from any restaurant.

We are not Denny's diners - we like great food and are willing to pay for nice meals in Vegas - but this was the highest price for basic food we have ever experienced.

Curious, did they not have the prices posted before you ordered?  If I saw a Provolne panini for $33 no way I would have ordered it.  Or $19 for house wine.

Kudos for you giving it a try.  It is a pretty cool space.  We did a walk though a few years ago and passed on eating there.  Thanks for the report.

Reason #2,388 to avoid the Strip.

To the wife, not even counting the rip off cost, since the meatball dish was clearly of poor quality, I hope you took it back to the counter for a refund.  It may have been too disruptive to do so in that situation, but unless we do this the eatery will continue to serve poor/inedible food.

Sorry that happened to you.  I have gotten where, at least in a real restaurant, I am not reluctant to 'send back' an entree or cocktail that isn't to my liking.  In a decent place they will let me order something else or take the item off my bill.  It embarrasses my friend for me to do that, but I'm always polite about it, never demanding, and how else will they know they are serving a tough steak or something that is clearly wrong?

Was NOT paying attention to the price...obviously...or would never have eaten there. My mistake.
