Eiffel Tower or Top of the World?

Which would you recommend for a higher end overall dining experience?

Thanks,
SP
Eiffel in a landslide.
Agree with friedmush. Of course, I might be biased, as I proposed to my wife at Eiffel Tower (she did accept.) Top of the World, nice, but the food was not as good.
What these guys said. Take away the view and Top closes.

Although TOW has an old rap of average food, I'm just wondering if Ken and FM have eaten there in the last 2 years...since Executive Chef Rick Giffen took over... All reviews I've read since then have indicated the food is much improved. There is a $25 Restaurant.Com cert too.

I'm considering their 1/2 price happy hour for small plates in May.
2010 for me. Not sure which trip.

Was this the menu?

I had lunch there in 08..unimpressed....I was thinking of giving them another shot though.
Alan, I have not made the plunge. I like Chowhound as a source for detailed food reports and Top of the World has had no buzz on that web site. It's a mixed bag at another foodie site -- Zagat.

Let us know about your experience, Alan.
Alanleroy, I am guilty. It was quite some time ago when I ate there. I am ashamed to say when, as I looked at pictures taken at that time. Guess I am guilty about not giving places another shot. Have a hard time spending large dollars, only to be disappointed, again. Other side of the coin, I will await any further reviews, and if positive, will go again.

I hear ya. That's why I'm leary. Once a joint gets a bad rap it's hard to change. I always thought it would take a 'celebrity chef' like Emeril or Flay to really turn it around. The Venue has great potential. Shame if it's still selling average food.
