El Cortez Siegel's 1941 rebranding and remodel.

Closing for 90 days, will be a new steakhouse, new name.  Still serving breakfast and lunch daily and NY style steaks at night.  Will this be the end of the $19.95 Prime Rib?

Nice to see they are bringing back the steakhouse.    That space rocked when it was called "The Flame" and before that "Robertas".    Both had really good fine dining at sane prices.....and I believe their was an LVA coupon for it too !

Its just too bad I dont play at ElCo much anymore since they tightend up the VP schedules.

Yeah, i've been pretty underwhelmed with Siegels as a 'steakhouse', its currently more of a Denny's.  The staff has always been very good when I go for breakfast but I would never go there without comps, its way too expensive for East Fremont.  I do think the Prime Rib deal is decent so I hope they continue that.

Oh, yeah, that's one of my many "damn, too bad it's gone" memories. Roberta's/The Flame was the best steakhouse AND the best deal in town. Siegel's is a sick joke compared to them.

Of course, the El Corpse used to have the best VP in town, the best blackjack, the best players' club, the best coffee shop, even the best keno....25 craps...☹️☹️☹️

Agree with all of the above.  We used to be regulars at the El, it was pretty sketchy back then but the gambling was good and Roberta's was a favorite.  They used to take multiple coupons, too; I remember getting out of there for something like $35 plus tip for four people.  Siegel's has been a hell of a disappointment, I agree that it's mostly a glorified Denny's now.  Not optimistic about the new steakhouse.

I used to love El Cortez. Walking down there could be sketchy but the gambling was good/fair. Now it's getting fancy and the games(other than single/double deck BJ) have gotten a little too fancy(poor odds or higher limits) for our liking. Guess that's the way of progress.

Sorry, guess this is in the dining forum. We ate at the pizza place years ago. It was terrible. Restaraunt probably 10 years ago. It was decent and cheap. We never hit Siegels.

Will they accept the 241 dining coupon with the $19.99 prime rib special?

Closed for 90 days so any coupons will likely need to be LVA negotiated for 2026.

According to the article you posted, the closure will occur long after the MRB coupon Jamie asked about expires next month.

"The closure is expected to happen in April 2026 . . . ."
