The Flame or Binions

Just wondering, what would my friends here on the LVA suggest - The Flame at the ElCo or Binions Steak House.

There will be 4 of us dining. I have a coupon for both the, two for the Flame though (One from ACG and one from LVA) Could I use both at once? Anyone tried as of yet?

Thanks,

CM
I've been to both in the past year.

Both places have pluses and minuses over each other IMO:

Flame:
- More diverse menu. Steak, Seafood, Pork, Chicken, pasta, salads.
- Probably a little cheaper than Binions. Flame coupon is better than Binions coupon.
- Lousy view unless you consider slot machines in the casino a view.

Binions:
- Menu mostly limited to steak/seafood. Chicken Fried Lobster is the signature dish. It sounds better than it tastes IMO. Some people love it.
- Fantastic View of the city at night. Ask for a table by the south window.
- I give them 5 star service. I hosted a wedding party there and had to change the reservation about 10 times before it was finalized. They worked with me every step of the way and made it a special night for my sister.
I have had a party of 8 use 7 coupons with no issues at the Flame. I did tip generously though.
I think pjstroh nailed it! I am normally comped to both and always choose Binions.

I enjoy them both and agree with the details of pjstroh except that I do love the chicken fried lobster.
Financially the Flame makes more sense- it is less expensive without any noticable drop in quality, you can double or triple up on coupons without any funny looks, and the selection is much broader for a larger group to choose from.
Awesome guys... Thanks for the info. I still will have a difficult decision a head of me.

I've never been to the Binion's steakhouse, but last year we went to the Flame. Not only was the food very good (lobster mac and cheese....mmmmmmmm) but I really liked the atmosphere. They had a guy in there playing American standards on the piano, taking requests. Very old school Vegas feel.
