The Flame Steakhouse at El Cortez

Last night went to The Flame and as always had a delicious dinner. I had the grilled Wall Eyed Pike that is flown in and my guest had the 20 oz. Porterhouse. Shared a mixed green salad, baked potato and the sauteed spinach with garlic and olive oil. The bread was excellent as usual. Just a wonderful meal . We had more than enough food and walked for an hour and a half after dinner. Went on a comp and the bill before tip came to $55.00. With the LVA would have been half. The dining room is restful and conducive to enjoying a nice meal. At the table next to us they ordered the sweet potato french fries. The oil must have been immaculate and these were by far the most appetizing fries I have seen. The fries were served in a bowl and the serving was extremely generous. Just sharing a positive experience
Thank you for sharing. It sounds like it was a great meal and a great evening with a friend as well.
We very rarely miss Roberta's (I just can't get used to calling it The Flame, sorry) when we're in Vegas. We always stay downtown, and El Cortez Day is always fun, we cash in some free play, play blackjack and eat there. It's always a good meal; the last two trips, people in our party got the Walleye (fried once, grilled once), both times it was really memorable. Steaks are always great, about as good as you'll get downtown; last time, the prime rib was good but not as good as I had remembered. Service is always a high point. Never any problem using multiple coupons, either. By the way, they always have a $25-for $10 coupon available at restaurant.com, and at least every other month there's a sale, so it's $25-for-$2.
the weekend offering of stone crab seemed popular when I was there last. I didnt see jackie on that trip. My last prime rib was only OK, but my 2010 prime rib-oh, boy. I still recommend the food, regardless of the noise in a pavilion room 2 weeks ago. In fact, I was only there to grind some full pay, building points to go back to the Flame! Good Luck!

I've had steaks there twice and last time, I had the rotisserie chicken. In all three cases, both the food and the service were fine. Even without the coupon, it's a great bargain.

They also offer double the redemption rate if you're at least a Sapphire player (which is very easy to get) and use your points.
Thanks for sharing... I am really looking forward to checking this place out in July! I can't believe that I have never been in my four or five previous visits to Vegas.

Don't feel bad. It took me several trips and one membership to the LVA to discover the El Cortez.

Does anyone know the dress code for The Flame? Is it the same for lunch and dinner?

Thanks

Its very casual. There are people who wear coat-n-tie and others who wear jeans-n-tshirt....and everything in between. You might even see Jackie G wandering around in his pajamas =)
