Food trucks? I'm confused

Mmmmmmm, slaver, slaver, McD's is soooo good. lol

Food stalkers, rec, that's what they are! Trucks post on FB and twitter and fans follow. (And of course the ghetto approach works well, too.) It's not all good, but anything that shakes up and diversifies the quick-hit food scene is a very good thing, indeed.

I have a dream ... of an America free of crappy fast food!!
Yes, Ken, I definitely do like the idea of people being able to have more choices in food options and that hopefully these places can offer better ingredients and put out hopefully an at least somewhat healthier product!

I do know that the bricks-and-mortar places have complained about them, but I think that more choices for the public are good as long as these trucks don't park right in front of bricks-and-mortar restaurants and possibly siphon off potential customers in front of them.

Pjstroh has a point which happens with many a fad: high prices for average goods. If it's the in thing, the chic fashionable food trend, people will declare it the best in the world, pay any price, and never have a critical, skeptical or analytical neuron travel their brain.

Brick and mortar places have some right to complain. Zoning laws should deal appropriately with food trucks.

Lastly, I'm reading a travel suggestion last night. Talked about going to Utah. One of the recommended eats was to locate a particular food truck. So food trucks are now recommendations on where to dine.
whats nice for them is...if they run out of whatever they make,
they just call it a day and ride off into the sunset.
poof. closin' time.

You mean they don't just micro-thaw something from the freezer when they run out? lol

Like anything else, consumers need to be discerning and not just do the lemming thing, which of course is a common consumer reaction.

If handled correctly I think brick/mortar and mobile can complement each other. Sedentary restaurants needed to be protected in their monetary and time investments getting up and running.
Thinking about going to the Food Truck Festival in Phoenix this Saturday.

The Chandler Chamber of Commerce (of which I sit on the Board), is planning its Centennial party next April at the Bondurant School of Racing. We are planning food trucks to fit the theme.
