Forte Bulgarian Restaurant

Located on Rainbow a few miles from Suncoast.

This was recently on Diners, Drive ins and Dives. My sister had wanted to try it so off to check it out.
Restaurant doesn't open until 3pm, so unless you want a late lunch don't go until then.

We had an array of foods off the menu and it was all very good. The beef stroganoff was the hit of the night. Lovely flavor, the dumplings were fantastic. Meat sauce was very flavorful. We shared the stuffed figs that were delightful and the meat tray was very good as well.

The rest of us had the Hungarian goulash, and the sausage dinner. The goulash was a little heavy with real mashed potatoes but oh so good. The homemade sausage was so very good.

This place does live up to the reviews. The menu is limited but it should be.

This is a definate place to revisit.

We had an enjoyable meal at Forte this past October. The restaurant is one of the 50 Essential Restaurants included in the dining guide "Eating Las Vegas". I understand the decor has been spiffed up since our visit. Here are my TR notes:

I was somewhat surprised to discover on entering that the interior was Spartan and more reminiscent of a biker bar than a fine dining establishment. Our waitress turned out to be very informative and helped guide us through the menu. We ordered Adjarski Khachapurri, Selska Ljutika, kiufte (sausage), Hungarian Goulash and a biscuit cake.

For those who have not been to Bulgaria or Russia recently, Adjarski Khachapurri is a boat shaped loaf of bread served directly from the oven with cheese and a cracked egg that are cooked and mixed together tableside. The Selska ljutika is a refreshing salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and peppers tossed in olive oil. The Hungarian goulash over mashed potatoes was excellent, but took second place to the biscuit cake which is described in the menu as a liqueur dipped honey tea biscuit layered with creamy mascarpone, decadent espresso and chocolate. ($39.40, 3.5 Forks)

The food does look fabulous. I especially liked how Guy got Punk'd. Had me rolling on the floor.
