I walked thru the Food Hall last week - everything is massively overpriced - I will not be buying any food there.
I am with David. As long as there is cheap food downtown, I am not going to set foot in a glorified mall style food court that is called a food hall rather than food court to justify higher prices.
And casinos have gotten rid of buffets and turned to the so-called "food hall". Buffets were usually affordable and often of decent quality. Just another rip-off.
What the casinos/bean counters like is the casinos have no cost, the fast food court people pay all employee costs food costs etc while the casinos receive the rent and just smile and say Thank-You.
Its one thing if they put in some interesting and upscale choices. Resorts World is ok by me because its full of places that are fast casual but also unique and elevated. By contrast, the "Food Hall" at Boulder Station looks like the food court next to JC Penney at your neighborhood shopping mall - complete with Burger King and Sbarro. Thats just a slap in the face.
That sucks for the Second Street Grill, one of my favorite places downtown and in vegas in general. It was a nice peaceful place in the craziness of Downtown. Never had a bad meal there.
