The Front Lawn at Ellis Island

I'm heading to Vegas with fifteen friends in early October.  After my non-stop Friday flight was cancelled, I booked a Thursday late afternoon flight and plan to stay at Ellis Island with one buddy for night one.  From what I understand, the hotel is Motel 6 caliber, which is fine.  Will will enjoy dining at The Front yard?

The next morning we're heading to the Lodge at Mount Charleston for breakfast.  This is also now an Ellis Island property.

I haven't been to the Front Yard yet but have looked at the menu for out there and its not for me and I don't think the LVA coupon will work there and this still depends if the bar there is open at all.  I would eat at their barbecue place or the main restuarant and LVA coupons at both and hopefully the bar will be open for your free drinks from LVA.  Either way. let us know how everything went.

I saw it in June - it is very nice, but we didn't eat or drink there - we were inside since it was 108.

Antennanut, I've read that the great majority of The Front Yard is an indoor climate controlled area.  There is also a small outdoor area.  Is that not the case?

Boilerman, was your Friday non-stop a Southwest flight?   I'm so bummed to get those SWA "your flight revisions" emails.

We have non-stops in October and one in November.   Both are Sunday departures.  Does that make a difference?

Yes, a large part is indoor and climate controlled.  But we didn't know that when we settled on staying indoors at the bar.  The Front Yard is extremely nice, and I wish we had eaten and drank there - although the inside atmosphere was fun, even with social distancing.  Another trip is planned for November, so we'll definitely hit it then.

O2bnVegas, yes...........my flight is with Southwest (non-stop Indianapolis to Vegas).  I've read that until Oct 7, Southwest is done with flight changes.  After that, who knows?

Good luck.

We have some friends coming out in October also.  How about getting a meet and greet together.  We will be the ones wearing out "Trump 2020" masks (maybe-depending on where we meet, haha)

Hello Vegasdawn.  While I'm a Trump fan, I will not be wearing a Trump mask in Vegas.  If you see a bunch of old guys (average age of 60) playing blackjack, drinking too much and laughing a bunch, that's us.  This is our 37th annual Vegas Trip.  I organize the thing every year, which doesn't really take much.  Oct 1, just two of us will be at Ellis Island.  Oct 2-5, fifteen of us will be at the Venetian.  We always get a bunch of rooms, but always one suite so we can all hang and watch football together.  This year we booked the Executive King, which is a 1 BR, 2000 square foot monster.  One full bath, and two half baths.  I like the place, but my favorite suite is the Spa Suite at the Golden Nugget.  The two story family room is very nice.
