Future of Buffets

When I was young, I loved to eat at a good buffet.  Now that I'm old, I don't eat beyond one plate of food.  I've not been to a buffet in about a decade.

I believe buffets will make a return in the future.

Agree.  I end up eating maybe 1/4 of what I put on my plate.  Sometimes one item is good enough to go back for more, while the rest remains uneaten.  Breakfast is the most dependable, IMO.

Desserts?  Ice cream is usually the best bet.

The buffet is a hotel/casino mainstay/tradition.  Can't imagine they won't make a comeback.

The low end joints try and fill you up with starch...lots of bread, potatoes, and pasta.   Once you get away from the salad bar its hard to find a vegetable side dish.

The higher priced buffets put out some "liter" options of high end food which allow you to enjoy a little bit more selection without filling up your plate with mashed potatoes and  macaroni and cheese.

Even if you are not a buffet person the one at the Wynn is a pretty awesome experience.    You just have to drop $50 is all.

Why dont the buffets just require that patrons don those thin plastic food service gloves before they pick up the traditional serving utensils at a normal buffet?  When you finish getting all the food you want, go sit down and dispose of the gloves.  If you get more food later, put on a new set of food service gloves.  That way, the biffets can be AS they were

I agree don't eat as much as when I was younger Yet now I go for the

more high end usually except for Main Street station which is a good

less expensive option Just like the wide variety Don't feel like in Vegas without a buffet experience Plus most you can found a discount

which is a plus

A roomful of people donning and doffing gloves...ick.  And likely they will be left on the tables and floor.  More ick.

Let the servers load our plates.  Can always say "a little more please."

I like that idea plus I'm a 90% buffet guy. I doubt used gloves would be as obvious and used napkins.  Plus that would be a lot cheaper for buffets than having staff stationed at each station.  IMHO
